Why does QVC sell lines that are never on to present and talk about their products?

That just doesnt seem to make sense to me....I heard Marybeth say it the other day that QVC sells product lines that we will never see on-air...........How can they sell enough of skincare to make it worth the while of the company when its never presented or talked about?
