Re: Why do we chng Face Care Protocol, when it's working?

Just something to consider: results from skincare is not seen in weeks or sometimes months. Everyone expects miracles in a short amount of time. Retin A may take a year before anything is noticeable.

We also are tempted to use too many products at a time, add more than one new one and then how do we know which made a great change to our skin?

To me, if a product irritates in the first day or two, it gets returned, but I'll give something new plenty of time to prove itself.

I also feel that using too many products (steps) can be redundant. Sometimes a simple routine is best. Derms recommend 1. cleanse 2. treat 3. moisturize 4. protect. So, usually four products is my limit. At night, I use three since spf is not needed.

I used to do that until I found elemis - which works for me.  My skin is so soft and moist and in the best shape ever.

Not trying to sway anyone -different lines work for different people.  But this is the first one that has worked so well for me - so I am not switching -  unless it stops working.

@JeanLouiseFinch

Yes, it does, and it takes several weeks before you notice the improvement - then all of a sudden - no more saggng face.

You have to keep doing it - if you don't - you'll start sagging again in a couple of days.

I generally use it several times during the day.  I keep in the desk drawer and whenever I'm on the computer - I use it.

I've worked my way up to between 80 and 90 repeat movements.

Re: Why do we chng Face Care Protocol, when it's working?

[ Edited ]

Good question @TwinkleBell .

Sometimes a product has changed.  Sometimes you body chemistry doesn't give you the same results a product used to give you.  Sometimes you get bored and want to try something new.

Example: I used to swear by Ahava Dead Sea Mineral Mask for my face.  I bought it and used it for years.  Just the mud for my face, nothing else.  I can't tell you how much I love that stuff.  They changed packaging and it appears they changed the product I had grown to love.  On top of that, people were boycotting Ahava (which I later joined) because it was territorial dispute about the company going to another country to take the resources from the country w/o permission.  I could really explain it, but it is not appropriate to do so here.  You know (middle east) issues.

As much as I loved that product I stopped trying to find it our buy it.  I also purchased their mud soap for bathing.  Not a lathery soap, but it was so wonderful.

They now how different iterations of this stuff.  I don't even know if it's the pure dead sea salts that are in the new formulations.  I won't be buying it.

Re: Why do we chng Face Care Protocol, when it's working?

My facial protocol is working wonderfully.  It's extensive but it's worth it.  Why would I make a change?  Good question.  I don't have any serious skin concerns but I'd add to it or switch with another product that I came across after a lot of research.  I'm open to change.  Every time I'm tempted to do something else I think long and hard tho.  I don't (and won't) use Retin A.  My mantra is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and moisturizer.  I do want to incorporate ceramides so I need to look into that.

Technology changes.  Science makes discoveries that improve on what we knew/thought 10 years ago much less 50+ years ago.  Our skin changes as we age.  It needs different ingredients.  Every now and then a better mouse trap is invented.  We learn from other cultures and countries.  Can you say K Beauty?  I'm not going to stop looking.  I don't look as intently as I once did but I'm not ever going to say "this is it.  This is as good as it gets"  Aren't we glad Karl  Benz didn't think the horse and buggy was as good as it gets?

Today my foundation was Benefit Tinted Primer in the hydration formula.  It was a my face but better look and I loved it.  Loved it so much I just bought another tube from eBay and saved $12 from the Sephora price.  I'm sorry Sephora Smiley Sad

I know this says it minimizes the looks of pores and I may have had some visible pores when I bought this for the first time a few years ago.   I don't now but I enjoyed the look and weightlessness of it.  I've got it in the regular formula too.  Haven't used either in couple of years or more.  I think I'll give my granddaughter the other one.

Re: Why do we chng Face Care Protocol, when it's working?

I've actually used a few lines since 19...I really only change about once every 8-10 years.  I may introduce a new product or 2, but my mainstays don't change.

LOL!  I don't really think plumped skin means your face will actually look fuller Smiley Surprised  If it did, I wouldn't want plumper skin either.   But hydrated skin is naturally going to look better, smoother, softer.  Consider a fresh plump peach vs one that is dried up and wrinkled.  You choose (g)

And some have done their research and found that some of those claims are true.

Dearest @Shanus

Lifting, I've not achieved nor have I even thought of it  because I don't have those jowls yet (but I think my face is thinking about it) Smiley Surprised.  But volume and firming are possible.
