Every time I see luxury makeup with applicators like these in the compact, it's a turnoff. It reminds me of drugstore makeup, and I can't imagine how many of these applicators go straight in the trash.

I'm not sure why people need to re-apply blush or eyeshadow in the middle of the day. I would not pay Dior prices for blush or eyeshadow that doesn't last all day.

As far as travel goes, I use a travel brush set. You can get one from Sephora that fits easily in a small makeup bag or purse, and the brushes do a much better job than the junky ones that come in these compacts.

I think for many reasons. One is probably because it makes the makeup container look more complete when you buy it. It makes a nice appearance. It makes the makeup item appear very portable, as well, so if you want to pop it in your bag, it looks like you have the appliator or brush already in the same container. No need to have an extra brush to find and put in your handbag. Also, it's probably much cheaper to supply a small, although for the most part, ineffective tool! Here's another idea which would apply to people like me. I am very makeup challenged, so if I get an item of makeup, such as powder, blush --- whatever -- and there is no brush or applicator --- I get the item and think --- well, now what? How do I apply this --- what am I supposed to use to put it on? It gives a person a starting point or an option who is not really knowledgable about makeup. Then, maybe once you see the provided brush is not working so well (i.e., too small or flat) you can then purchase a more suitable brush! Just some random thoughts!

Those colors are beautiful.

Thought it was a blush, but now see on the Dior site it is eyeshadow.

Not a fan of the brighter pinks on the lids...it looks like a burn to me.

I guess in terms of "how do I apply this?" most people have a blush brush they use for all blushes, eyeshadow brushes they use for all eyeshadows. It's not like every product requires special instructions or tools. Plus, makeup ALWAYS looks better when you don't use those teeny brushes.

YES. I was thinking of the Cover Girl blushes too. They still make them with the same stupid little brush. There's no way to diffuse the color all over the cheek so you look like you have a stripe of blush.

I think bright pink and red looks bad on everyone who tries it -- it always looks like you have some sort of infection.

I am not going to disagree with your point of view. I totally agree!

High end makeup name, stamped with fancy impressions, glossy black compact and you open it up and it has childlike brushes. And the bristles are usually so flimsy, they don't really help with quick daytime applications. Seriously. You end up using a tissue or your fingers anyways.

My makeup line doesn't include brushes for eyeshadow or blush. Although, I'm not wild about the brushes they do have for purchase, I buy another brand. And if I do travel, I put them in ziplock baggies. The snack size ones.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe some ladies actually use them.

I keep my itty-bitty bushes to clean between the keys on my laptop keyboard - to get dust out of tiny places where dust gathers, like door hinges -- to clean between the prongs on my rings and bracelets.... just to name a few.
