So I was watching a Philosophy show yesterday and they were presenting a 6 piece shower gel holiday set. One of the scents included was Orange Cocoa and Cream, which Mari Lynn (I think) said was exclusive to QVC, stores were begging for it, she said no, no. You can find a set of an 8oz Orange Cocoa and Cream gel with a 4oz soufflé for $25 with 15% off at Macy’s and Nordstrom. Maybe it’s true you can’t  get a 16oz size gel, but don’t tell me I can’t get it anywhere!

I think they were referring to the size.

Actually, that is not a false CLAIM.

So the OP knows it’s not a false claim as the title indicates.

The idea that you can't get it anywhere else in a certain size does not play into my buying decision. Nor does the idea that it is just like couture or worn by actresses. Do I like it (or think I will like it) and does the price work for me? Those are my considerations. That being said I need to get away from impulse buying and enjoy the abundance of what I have.

Speaking of false claims--and sorry to take this off the topic of Philosophy and onto Valerie Parr Hill--but I was a little bothered by the presentation of one of her items where Mary Beth made the the statement that a certain look could be achieved for $63 when, in truth, the cost was $96.

I don't think it was intentional (IDK) but it's lucky I checked how many sets of swags I really needed or I would have been sadly disappointed when I received my order only to find I was short a swag! Luckily I started to question what she said, and in the end I ordered enough.

@Jordan2,   It is so ridiculous that someone has to stoop to lying to get a sale.  Nordstrom would never treat you that way.  They are a class act and they match prices.   Cat Very Happy

What they need to say is: "This is NOT available in stores in this "CONFIGURATION!" But it's called marketing and the object is to sell and make a profit! Or why else would they be in the business. We as consumers are pretty smart now-a-days and most know this, but the convenience of shopping from home is so, so nice. 😍
