Who uses lipstick brush?

I just got one from Cinema Secrets on Amazon. $10, it's a good brush - retractable. But I never used my old one (20 yrs ago) bc I could not master it. I'm having the same problem, don't get a lot of color transferred onto my lips.

Is there a technique to lay down more color or is this just the nature of the beast?
