So funny my mother made us use that when we were kids.

Baking soda is abrasive to tooth enamel. It can wear enamel thin over time where older people already have thinning enamel. I wouldn't use it more than once weekly.

I would love to try Supersmile, but they don't have a version without mint.  I treat homeopathically and mint tends to antidote remedies.

@SilleeMee This is a very common misconception. In fact, the RDA (Relative Dentin Abrasivity) of baking soda is 7, right behind water, and the FDA allows an RDA of up to 250 for commercial toothpastes (not prophy paste, IOW).

The American Dental Assoc does not approve the use of raw baking soda to brush teeth. They say it causes cumulative enamel erosion, gum irritation, strips away protective protein layer on tooth enamel and offers no cavity protection. Use toothpastes w/baking soda instead.
