I watch a few YouTubers for makeup, clothing, household goods, and book reviews. I have made some good buys and found items I wasn't aware of. I probably wouldn't buy fragrance that way though 🤷♀️

I don't watch any bloggers or influencers. Years ago, when influencers were new, I went to a beauty event where they were featured.
First, they were very young and acted like young girls do, giggling and sharing posts on their phones with each other. People were standing there waiting to talk to them.
Second, I knew more about the makeup than they did.
I'm not trying to be "snarky." I'm just telling you about my experience, and why I don't think I need them. ![]()

Today I saw a video by Coffee and makeup for Morphe soft glow veil. She showed swatches of all 4 colors and applied each to her face. This is more helpful than looking at products in a store.
Reading a blog or watching a product video offers additional info about the product, I don't buy products because a blogger recommended it, I buy because I like it and think it will work well for me.

I'll have to disgree with you. It's not risky if you're buying a perfume or cologne you're familiar with and already use.
I've purchased the cologne my husband uses on QVC many times. I take advantage of the reduced prices and sales they run every so often. The deal I get on QVC for his colgone (Obsession) is better than any deal I could get elsewhere.

Fragrances can react so differently on each individual. Trying in person and giving it some time is the only way to know what works.
I never understood why both HSN and QVC don't include those little sample vials or sealed packets with some orders, especially if it's a new fragrance in a line a customer has purchased from currently or in the past.

I bought Amazing Grace when QVC offered it. I LOVE it. Then they offered Falling In Love. I bought that and love it. Those are the only perfumes I use.

@Lovestheshores You're right. I should have said I wouldn't buy perfume from TV unless I was already familiar with the fragrance. Just like I won't buy shoes from TV unless I already have the brand and know how they fit.

@Lovestheshores If you shop at sams club they have good prices on obsession, also the website jomashop has good prices.

I have only bought a few makeup items that a blogger has recommended. It has been by people who have the same coloring as me because I am able to imagine it on myself. If it's someone with a completely hair or skin color/tone than me, it's definitely more difficult and I tend not to purchase. I don't think I was ever disappointed in a makeup choice I've made.
That being said, scent is much more personal. I would definitely have to smell it before I buy it. It's a good thing you only bought a sample!

@I am still oxox I follow several "curly haired" YTbers. I let my hair grow longer and since it's naturally curly/wavy I'm always looking for new ideas to moisturize, gels, mousses, etc.
I was spending too much money on their recommendations while they were raking in endorsements. Now I may watch them, but stopped buying new products. Most seem to be so much the same with different labels.
