What am I doing wrong?

Ive been using cucumber aloe cleansing conditioner for 6 months and my hair looks great. The problem is, to style and for volume I have been trying his mixture of Lavendar styling cream and volumizing treatment spray. I mix them together as he has shown on air and it does absolutely nothing for body. My hair wont take a curl and is as flat as a pancake when I use this mixture. I have fine hair and Am forced to use my old styling products of mousse and gel for volume and to hold a curl.He says to mix one pump of creme and 4-5 hits of the spray. Does not work. Does anyone else have this problem and how do I ask my question to Chaz?
