What Has Happened to IT Beauty Products?

I have been an IT GIRL for years. I have been a big fan of the products and often recommended them to others. But Now, No Way! IT Celebration Foundation now has horrible wear. It cakes and the product fill in the package is less. The Universal Brow now flakes. Where's the quality control. Since the company was sold, have corners been cut to reduce costs? It shows! I'm now on the hunt for another line of beauty products. So Sad!

Shoekitty said,   I dont know about IT so much, but my daughter said the same thing as she uses IT   I can tell you that Perricone changed their anchor foundarion two years ago .. after 10 uears of wearing it, I was devastated.  When they changed I had to throw it out.  It caked, was hard to spread and the color was off, more yellow.  Go look at the reviews for their foundation now.   Horrible   Why... they would do this when it sold like hotcakes.  I do know it occured the same time Perricone sold to the Hut group.  I wonder if when they sell their line they loose the original recipe after a while   When Philosophy sold they lost te anchor product   Cinnamon Buns that the founder made her name on.  When Bobbi Brown sold Beach fragranc e changed and they quit making the beach lotion, gel and scrubs   And changed the Beach fragrance   Hmmmmmmm

JKL sold the comoany for a boatload of money and I read here that the products are now made in China.  Maybe that has something to do with it?  Cheap ingredients? 🤷‍♀️

Re: What Has Happened to IT Beauty Products?

@Aunt C - As others have said, L'Oreal bought IT, so the quality might not be the same.

The products are made in the US, South Korea, and China.

Leaping Bunny certifies IT as cruelty free. The products are not sold in China.

Re: What Has Happened to IT Beauty Products?

@Aunt C   It never fails -- the company gets sold and sooner or later the quality goes downhill.  That happened to me with Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.  I wore it for wears and there was definitely an ingredient(s) change and I can no longer wear it.  It's frustrating when the product you were wearing all the time you can no longer wear due to cheap ingredients.

Re: What Has Happened to IT Beauty Products?

The same thing happened with Bare Minerals, Tova, Burt's Bees and many others ... larger company buys them and then they change or stop making the products. I recently went to re-stock my Burt's Bees face cleanser and face moisturizer ... they're not being made any more. So, now I'm back to Neutrogena again until I find something I like better ... again.
