Re: What Does Your Vanity Area Look Like!”?

[ Edited ]

I don't have a vanity.  I keep my skincare items in a train case on my bathroom counter. I also keep my "finishing up" products in there because I apply 99% of my make-up in my bedroom but then I go into the bathroom to use my setting powder, bronzer, lipstick and setting spray.

Most of my make-up is in a faux leather cosmetic bag that rolls open and once open there are 4 individual pouches where I have things separated out.  It's like the Joy Mangano better beauty cases but mine is from Sephora.

On a nightstand, I have my application sponges in sponge holders and I have 2 ceramic brush holders that are full of brushes.  I have some larger compacts stacked there and a few different mirrors.

I seriously did a declutter several months ago and got rid of make-up items I didn't use.  Out went foundations that didn't suit me or I didn't like for one reason or another, eyeliners got tossed, shadows I didn't like, etc.  Many products I only have 1 of, like bronzer, setting spray, setting powder and a few other things.  I just don't see the need for options in these types of products.  I don't own a ton of blushes either because again, I don't need them.

I have a couple of large shadow pallettes and now I've gotten into really liking a 1 and done shadow look so I'm not even using that much shadow.  My lipsticks are totally ridiculous.

I am fortunate to have a generously sized vanity area between the sinks in my master bath. Not wearing much makeup these days, but all beauty items have a place and are returned to that place after each use. I do not like to see clutter.

Well, in my bathroom, I have a large food storage container with all of my makeup.

DH and our sons used the master bath since there was 3vof them.  I used the hall bath so I wouldn't wake DH up leaving early to get to school.

I do have my grandmother's crystal vanity from the 1940's.  The mirror goes up the wall and it's 4 feet long.

The pink antitarnish cloths  have my most used er's.   The vanity tray belonged to my grandmother.

The pictures are of our sons.

Luxury Deluxe Wood Cosmetic Box w/Mirror by Lori Greiner

Lori Greiner make-up organizer. Bought on the Q many years ago. I keep in our bedroom. My Mother taught me to never keep make-up in the bathroom.

Re: What Does Your Vanity Area Look Like!”?

Just a few things on sink ... hair spray, toothpaste and witch hazel.

Makeup etc. is in a plastic box divided into compartments - sitting on the stool in the corner by the tub.

I live alone ..... so I hung a 24 "bag" shoe organizer behind the bathroom door ... all the "extras stuff" is in the organizer.

Like @ECBG , I inherited my grandmother's vanity too. It's a wood one from England with a trifold mirror. It's in our bedroom.

BUT - I've never been able to put my makeup on without water. So I stand at the sink to do that. In a previous house I had a built in vanity between two sinks. We bought a pretty green vanity seat to use. It became a kitty nap place, and you could find me doing my makeup leaning over one of the sinks!  Smiley Wink
