This is a great question!
Darn I just had to have this set and fought with myself over buying it cause I have enough "stuff" to last me a lifetime. I ordered and cancelled so many times. then I decieded to get it for my 19 yr old granddaughter and when it came I loved it ! I loved the pink colors as I am blonde and fair, but of course I didn't try it,so it began again, the fight with myself over buying it...........lol
Well I bought it and after waiting days and days for it to ship it finally did and now I'm reading this and hoping it is NOT sparkly.

I can't say what "illuminating" means for this specific product. But if it does mean a light sheen or glow and not obvious shimmer, I think that is more flattering than totally matte.

I must have looked beyond crazy glowy the first time I wore them b/c I applied too much as they weren't showing up in my make-up area lighting, but WHOA they showed up in other lighting. I got it right now and love the GLOW I get... finally. ~smiles, SnowKitacuddlesmama - I think it's a good question as many products call themselves illuminating they end up giving a wide range of results, many times depending on their consistency and the user's skin type.
I agree with the posters who stated the result should be glowing, not sparkling. So at this time in my life (just turned 50 & my skin is getting a bit drier) what works best is a liquid serum illuminator mixed with moisturizer or liquid foundation.
I've had some luck with tarte Smooth Operator Illuminating Serum, but I'm not sure that's still on the market. I am looking forward to the BECCA line getting an hour presentation in January; I do want to try their Shimmering Skin Perfector (A256884). I've read a lot of good things about it.

You will have to post back and let us know if it is sparkly or shimmery.

Great to know SnowKita, thank you. I'm planning on sitting at my laptop on 12/26 and doing some shopping for myself so I'll add this to the list.

It means it has a light shimmer or a glow to it when applied.

It's funny you should mention this topic. I just purchased a Physicians Formula illuminating blush in Natural Pearl. It's a small compact ( with mirror ) with it's own little brush. I like it. I'm no kid and do not need shimmer or sparkle, and this seems to be just enough to dust around my face. I purchased it at Ulta for about $10. They had a a darker pink, but this one is the lighter of the two. I'm always looking for something like Skinlights that Revlon discontinued a few years ago. It was the perfect liquid foundation IMO.

MoJoV - When I read your post about Revlon Skinlights, it seemed to me that I had read something about those being relaunched. I googled and it is available again in the Revlon PhotoReady line now, but still called Skinlights. Supposed to be available at Ulta and Target. Hope you can find it if you're interested.

Illuminating to me means glow. I don't want to be too "glowing" though and much of it is. Why don't they do like they do with matte only use the word "dewy". Light dewy, semi dewy. Anything after that would be listed as a full-on shine or something.

Shannara!! If I find my Skinlights you are going to be my hero! Thankyou so much for your post. I was in Ulta just the other day and didn't see it, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.
