I just wanted to share what my doctor had told me about having "chapped" lips, including dryness in the corners of the mouth and/or a fissure (crack or ridge) on the lips. She said that she believes that it may be due to a fungal/yeast infection. The dryness may apparently trap the fungus/yeast. Please, however, check with your doctor as to not provide a self-diagnosis or self-treatment. The doctor had told me that in my situation that an anti-fungal cream may help the "chapped" lips (though, I was just prescribed the cream today ![]()

I never have a problem with chapped lips. I use Rosebud Salve every night before bed & Lypsl during the day.

That can be the case most often when there are cracks in the corners of the mouth and not just dry or chapped lips.

My doctor said the same thing about fungal yeast infection when I had cracks in the corners of my lips. I had it for quite a while and did put on the anti-fungal cream at night.

Chris Rock (the comedian) does a whole routine about his Grandpa saying, "Broken leg? Robitussin. Sore finger? Get some Robitussin", and so on.
That's how I am about Neosporin (or the generic brand). I swear by it. Sore throat? Take Neosporin and put a small amount right inside of your nose (it kills the bacteria and you can feel the smell of it going down your throat). It WILL kill the bacteria in your throat and you won't need antibiotic for the sore throat.
I use it for everything. Now my post about lips. About once a week or so I rub it on my lips (another good remedy (a cheap version of the expensive lip exfolient brand "Sugar" is actual sugar. Rub it on your lips.
Every single night of my life (since I was a teen (today I just turned 68 years old) I have put some form of Petroleum Jelly on my lips and around them. I've never had chapped lips.
Just simple things makes all of the difference.
My Grandmother was 1/2 Cherokee Indian. She raised me. She taught me many "home" remedies.
Less is always best. You can add but you can't take away. Just saying.

lol. That's what I'd been using as it had petroleum jelly, however, the doctor said that if the dryness and/or fissures on the mouth are from a a fungal/yeast infection, then an anti-fungal should help me to clear it up. However, I've only used the cream once so far ![]()

I find drinking water (lots) and applying Aquaphor to dampened lips works best.Doctor recommended it after radiation.
