I do my own manicures and I will say I am no expert. Although I prefer Essie and OPI brands and the colors they offer. I will say though since I started using 45 Second Top Coat by Nail Inc. my polish lasts almost 2 weeks with no chipping. I got this in a Beauty Box over on HSN and I never thought it was going to be such a nice product in saving my manicures. It's really good stuff.

I LOVE pretty long nails and I wore acrylics for years ..  BUT as you said I did NOT want to spend that amount of time at the nail salon ...  it's a good hour and a half to sit there watching the techs doing the same thing with those wizzing nail files, etc. so gave them up.  Certainly don't miss the nail appts., but I did love having long nails.

@ECBG   What I do is keep them clean, no polish.  Did you ever think of leaving polish off unless you are going out say for dinner?  I know it's not a great suggestion especially if you love looking at your pretty nails.
