After watching her present this product, I have to wonder just what her relationship is with the company to whom she sold her company. "Just anyone" wouldn't pop in at the last minute and launch a new, "big deal," product. According to Leslie and Lisa, her appearance was not planned. Wouldn't the company executives (whoever now owns the BE brand) mandate who would launch their premier product? Then she mentioned she was testing all sorts of liquid foundations and people were staring at her because her makeup looked so bad. Is she still involved in product development?

I thought she sold the company and trotted off with her millions. Apparently not. If she's still involved, I'd like to see her as the face of BE more often (nothing against Jessica. IMO Leslie is the trusted face behind the brand.)

I'm not trying it. I wear the original formulation and don't have a reason to change. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

I'm not really sure how you can make these nasty comments when you obviously have no idea what has happened with the company. Yes, BE went public in 2006 and was sold to Shiseido. However, Leslie is still the CEO of the company. She did not "trot off with her millions". Not sure what you would have ever heard to make you think that, but you are very, VERY wrong! Do some homework before opening your mouth.

And to address another person wanting to know about animal testing. BE products are NOT tested on animals and ARE made in the USA & Canada, with the exception of the packaging & tools.

I always thought these boards were a place where we could lift each other up and share thoughts & ideas about products. Instead it has become a bashing ground. Do we need to make others feel bad to make ourselves feel good? Because I just find that to be so wrong. I'm sure many of the people you have been bashing here actually read these posts. How would you feel to read all this nastiness if it were about you? We can still offer our thoughts & opinions, but keep them "soft" instead of hurtful. Make your comments productive and sincere without being so harsh.

You're WAY too invested in in Leslie Blodget who doesn't know you or care about you. And YOU can buzz off if you don't like comments on the board; who died and made YOU webmaster? We can say what we wish and if you don't like it, too bad.

Um, I did do my homework and research and YES, Leslie Blodgett made MILLIONS when Bre Minerals was sold! That is public knowledge! As for your other comments, I think we as consumers of a product have the RIGHT to question the integrity of the person selling the product to us!! For YEARS Leslie said how bad liquid foundation was for you. She did those experiments with the paper towels and water, etc to prove her point. I think some people, myself included who have used her product for 13 years find the release of this new "serum" foundation to be a contradiction in terms. She's basically talking out of both sides of her mouth. I replayed the presentation from Friday and I don't think Leslie Blodgett believed one word that she was saying! She actually said that "she never liked liquid foundation and I still don't!" Well, you can call this "serum" foundation or whatever you want, but it's a LIQUID!!! That blows her crediblity out of the water!! I agree with the ladt that posted above me. You are WAY too invested in Leslie Blodgett!! We, as consumers have EVERY right in the world to question the crediblity of a person who all of a sudden does a 360 on what she's been saying for YEARS!!! If you're that sensitive or nieve, maybe you should NOT read any of the posts because it is clear to me that most of the ladies on here feel the same way I do!!! It would be intersting to have that presentation analyzed by someone who specializes in voice and body language!

Oh, and Leslie Blodgett is NOT the CEO any longer!!!!! She is on an indefinite sabatical. Those were her words, not mine!

If you google Who is the CEO of Bare Minerals, an article from Forbes magazine comes up. It clearly states that Leslie sold her company for 1.7 BILLION dollars and has stepped down as CEO!!!!

Indeed, Leslie took the opportunity of the sale to stop running the business end of Bare Escentuals and focus on Product Research and Development, her true love. She took a six month sabbatical and is back in the office.

Well sure I was convinced! Just easier and more fun to take everything at face value! I can hardly wait to get mine because I am hoping that it is the same miracle that the loose powder was for my thirties and forties. With my fifties I sure need a new miracle

Gurlygirl, this is not bashing, but discussing a product that has maintained a consistency for many years. I sense many avid fans of BE feel betrayed as I also felt when Shishedo is breaking ground in areas Leslie was so against..liquid makeup. Sounds as though she is forced into this new line of products and many are clearly seeing it on the show.

Leslie was proud not to animal test on her products, but she DID sell her products to a company that DOES ANIMAL TEST. YES SHISHEDO DOES ANIMAL TEST FOR SURE. For your information, it is on the Peta's listing of companies who heavy animal test. I for one, do not want to wear any makeup that animals tests that some animal is tortured to find out if the product is harmful. How selfish is that?

You can inform us about the information about Leslie still being the CEO in a kinder way yourself. I haven't seen any harshness on this thread but these ladies are discussing and venting their frustrations on a tried and true products replaced by new products that many are not sure of..and given the showing, Leslie didn't appear to be too sold on it herself. There is no disrespect to Leslie, in this thread of conversation, whatsoever.

Lindas Thank you for the info on animal testing. I was not aware that Shishedo did that. That does it for me for sure! I WILL NOT purchase products from a company that tests on animals. I said it before that this company (Bare Minerals) is going down the toilet and now I know why! It was sold for 1.7 BILLION dollars to a company that has no conscience!! Thank you again for the information Lindas!!

According to Leslie, she took an indefinite sabbatical, but she also said we would never see a liquid foundation from BE, so I guess her word doesn't mean a whole lot to me!

Re: Well... Were You Convinced?

I was concerned on the animal testing and contacted BE about it, so whatever Sheisedo does for testing BE is not tested on animals. But as it being the company that now owns BE, I don't feel great about it to be honest. I wish Sheisedo would sell to someone else.

So far as Leslie goes she is a great business woman and I like her very much personally. Not to get too far off topic, but I wish she would step away from BE and form an entirely new line of products, cruelty free and for women over fifty. We are all smart enough to know that makeup can make you look very good and feel good about yourself but nothing is going to make a 90 year old woman look 16 again. I am glad that Leslie isn't going and having work done and then making extravagant claims. I think there are so many of us aging baby boomers that there is a lot of opportunity in our demographic. We want to look good for our age and not like clowns! Who wants to have a look that will scare children.

Re: Well... Were You Convinced?

Please go back to the BE like they use to be.Don't be like the other companies with all the foundations. Your company use to be so different from the others. You makeup was good for your skin. I wonder if you sold your sole.?

Wow. Just wow. I'm all for everyone having their own opinions & discussing them, but acting like you are in junior high & telling someone to buzz off is uncalled for! For anyone that is interested, Jessica will be on today at noon and tonight during Tuesday night beauty to demo this.
