Re: WHICH SERUMS HELP BOOST COLLAGEN ON FACE??

@LTT1

Which Matrixyl do you use?  I bought the Timeless one along with CoQ10.  I've repurchased the CoQ10 but not the Matrixyl.

@Sooner

I have a hearty complexion and a disdain for most "healthy" foods (unfortunately).  So topicals it is.

The Matrixyl picture here from Isomers, is about the only one I know of that contains all 4 forms of Matrixyl, that is very hard to find.

So what you're saying is collagen applied topically or ingested doesn't help the skin?

I think that is dependent on the person.  My skin's barrier/complexion is in good health.  I have a hearty complexion and as you know, I use a lot of products in my AM and PM routines.  Granted a lot of them are for hydration but they also include other properties. My routine also includes Vit C, retinol and glycolic acid.

I like Algenist Liquid Collagen serum. also, Pacifica makes an entire line of various products that all use Vegan Collagen. Good ones to try, not saying any are miracle workers.

I loved that, too.  Unfortunately, they don't have it anymore.

@monicakm

No, not exactly. Collagen is protein and its molecules are too big to penetrate the skin so it sits on top which is fine b/c collagen holds moisture very well and that is a good thing for skin...hydration.

The benefits from ingesting collagen supplements are based on speculation and not on actual scientific testing so there's no real proof that it does anything for the skin or any other part in the body. If you take collagen supps and see improvements anywhere then have at it. If it helps you then take them. Nothing wrong with that.

Hi @monicakm , yes it does have a fresh scent, I find it is suttle but nice.   I also have used the eye cream which I love!   Good stuff.

Hey @monicakm  Hope you are doing well.  It's Patrick time. Smiley Wink (the adorable football quarterback whom lived near Monica for those that don't know when she was a youngster) He's won 3 superbowls under 30 years of age.

Ok, I just wanted to mention you might be using too many lotions and potions.  One or two serums is tops along with a daily moisturizer. (And your retinol being the most important like @Sugipine states.).  If I could it would be tret or a retinol followed by a good simple moisturizer. (Even just good old Cerave lotion recommended by many Derm's) However my skin just won't allow me sadly. Even most Derm's only say a retinol type, maybe some sort of serum and moisturizer.  That's enough, Keep it simple and don't overload.  It will be clogged up.

I did some research on this and one of the symptoms of "overuse" of serums, potions, is very dry skin."  Just something to consider to slowly back off. All these things might be training the skin to drink more and more of it each and every day. Which does not turn out well in the end.

Just a thought, take care. Smiley Happy Go KC!
