There is a posting standards under the quick links on the lower left side of the forums page that you can peruse to familarize yourself with what is allowed and what isn't.

When all is said and done, QVC's forum is a privately owned forum and they have the final say as to what is left up and what isn't. We may not like it or understand it completely but it is their right to do as they wish.

I never post links to other retailers or never type NAME.com. Post only NAMEdotcom. But who knows, I could be wrong here, too.

@HappyDaze. I understand all that. It's the inconsistency that baffles me. 😏

Especially in Beauty.

Posters go on&on&on&on about this SKINN brand...and it's with a competing tv shopping station, yes?

And posters can openly talk about brands with HSN...and no deletion.  Revenue out of QVC's pockets.  But yet....it remains.

However,

I post a physician's name...a name who treated a former President of the United States...and they say that's solicitation....and my post is deleted.   With that logic, we shouldn't be able to talk about people like Oprah, Martha Stewart or Calvin Klein because that would be solicitation.

In fact, @SilleeMee, I tagged you in a recent nutrition post....careful to step around the deletion landmines...not even mentioning names...and it was deleted.  I emailed the team, asking them to coach me for future postings, but the answer didn't make any sense.

I used to support Moderation 100%...thinking personal bias SURELY wouldn't interfere w/ their job.  Silly me! 🙃

Yes @sidsmom, I got the chance to read your post before it was gone. I don't understand the logic behind it's vanishing. We're just at the mercy of the mods. Some do the job well some not so much imo.

@sidsmom. If posts re: LR & what she's specifically selling on FB is allowed to go on for pages & pages, a former Q host with groupies called a "tribe" and posting pics of these items on these forums, what the heck else should not be poofed if not that?

Just on Fashion & big discussion about Carole Hochman being sold on HSN. OK. So why is that entire thread not poofed?

@Shanus

YouTube videos.

I DO know many YT videos are monetized.

Back when blogging/vlogging was new, with our member base on the QVC forum, one mention could constitute 10-20,000+ views.  Back a couple yrs ago, those views could mean big $ for those YT channels...probably the time QVC posted their Guidelines prohibiting the links.

Today, YouTube has tightened the reins where it's hard to make any money....unless you are a multi-million member channel.  Marge from Ohio, with her channel of 4,000 members, showing how to pluck eyebrows, isn't going to make anything if someone mentions her channel on this forum.

QVC has to keep up with the social media trends.  What is logically allowed & what is not.  The game changes.  Heck, I'm just a normal slug behind a little ole iPad...and even I can figure that out.  If you have a Tech/Social Media Team for your corporation....seems they can figure this out, as well.

@Shanus,

I know...right??! Another thing, what does it mean when a thread gets poofed for "challenging a moderator"? Is this thread an example of what this might be?
