I'm sorry this happened to you, but thank you for the reminder.  Same for keeping lip gloss or hand lotion type items in your car during the summer.

Re: WHAT A MESS!

[ Edited ]

Just last week I received a Lip Gloss collection from Kevyn Aucion (which was more than I wanted to spend but it was recommended).

I put in in my travel make up case to take on vacation ... opened it up and the tubes all leaked on all my make up and the bag.

I tossed the 4 lip gloss tubes and tried to wash everything off but had to trash a few things and the case.

I emailed the company and still have not heard back.

I know what a pain that is @Shanus .....Try Dawn .....I have no idea if it will help or not...Good Luck!

@Shanus and @DREAMON - I am so sorry that this happened to both of you.  What a mess is right.  How disappointing and, dare I say, a bit maddening.

So sorry this happened to you! A reminder to me to take my glosses out of my bag and my work tote bag. I would reach out to LV and see what advice they give. I'm sure they have advice for the products they sell. I scratched a leather bag many years ago and they were very helpful!  Good luck!

@Shanus  I'm sorry this happened to you but not all hope is lost unless the makeup bag has seen it's day.

The best place for any repair on high end goods is called "Leather Surgeons". The best and if it can be made new again they will do it! They do it all Chanel to Hermes.

I own a Chanel GST white leather outside and a gray satin fabric inside.  I was so excited upon opening the bag I had wet, sort of greasy hands out of the kitchen to look inside the bag. there were my hands and the stains on it.  I was so sad and scared about what I did. Brand new too.

With that said lets move on to fix it.  "Leather Surgeons" to the rescue. lol. Go online, they will ask you for a picture of the accident Smiley Sad... Give them your phone number and email.  Take a picture of it from all angles and they will call you or email you back with a quote  The are located outside of Philadelphia, a wonderful family who has been in business for so many years now.

They work wonders!! And honest.  Not that expensive either for the fine work they do. One just has to go to  their website and start the process.  Good luck if you feel the LV and it's age makeup bag is worth it. Only you know that. Good luck. Smiley Happy (they will send you a free UPS label so you just package it up neatly at the UPS store to get a little box for it.  Return will be free.

PS.  His name is Gerry Gallagher and he actually answers the phone.

@Shanus  So sorry that happen. I buy those cheap small plastic bar soap holders and keep all my lipstick, gloss, chapstick in them just in case they leak. They work great. I buy the small travel cases.
