If you use WEN do you acutally use the amounts Chaz suggests? Seems like alot! I have chin length thinning hair. I am using the last of my supply but I use one pump to cleanse. I wondered because he was REALLY stressing the amounts this morning. (I am not buying again cause it just makes my hair limp day 2. Just wondered...)

Sort of. But I don't always use a full pump.
Right now my hair is several inches below my shoulder--a few inches longer than the model Anne. But it's soft and fine.
I use six pumps (from the 32oz bottle) for each cleanse. But I don't use one formula, I mix them because just the wheat or soy based CCs are too heavy for my hair and leave it weighed down. Sometimes I use a bit more of one formula than the other. I've learned over the years what works for my hair.

I've never counted, but I use several pumps. My hair is right past shoulder length. I couldn't get by with just one pump.
I'm excited about today's TSV and all the Wen sales.
The Q is giving a 5% discount using their card. Be Frugal is giving a 10% rebate, plus an additional 4.00 for Customer Appreciation week.

@bargainsgirl Your hair may be limp on day 2 because you aren't using enough. I used WEN a few years back (only quit because it was to expensive for me) and liked it a lot. You really need to, at least at first, use the recommended # of pumps for your hair length and see how it does. Then you can start adjusting up or down. Also keep in mind that the # of pumps depends on the size of the bottle because the pumps are bigger/smaller depending on size.
One more thing...are you using enough water to make a creamy "froth" in your hair? If not, your hair may not be getting clean because the product won't rinse out properly. That "splash" of water Chaz recommends was never enough for me...I would apply the product all through my hair, massage in a bit, then stick my head directly under the shower spray for a second for a good wet-down! If the product didn't get "frothy", I'd do it again. Then rinse thoroughly, while running your fingers through your hair.
Using WEN does take a bit longer but, if it works for you, it's a great product. I realize that not every product works for everyone.

I have used Wen for over 10 years. I have curly, colored, porous, top of shoulder length hair. I use 2-3 pumps Pomegranite for my "shampoo" and 5 pumps of a seasonal mixed with 319. I wash approx every 3-4 day. I tried the number of pumps suggested many times, but it just was too much. I love the way my hair looks and behaves.I also use a mix of Wen gel along with other brands of curly hair styling products I really believe it is a brand you need to play around with to find your best recipe.

I totally agree about using more than the recommended "splash" of water!
That was the key for me. I had tried WEN shortly after it came to the Q and hated it. Quit for years. Then tried it again and because of a fluke one time added more water and it was perfect! Getting that frothy consistency is a must for me or I end up flat and greasy looking.
I think it takes some experimenting at first to find which products and routine works for you.
And I also agree that not every product will work for everyone.

I can't tell you exactly how much but I use quite a lot. Ìf you're getting flat/greasy results, you really aren't using enough. I know it doesn't make sense but try using more and be sure to rinse your scalp thoroughly.

Yes @bargainsgirl , it takes a lot. For me with thick thick hair I use what I THINK is best then add that much more again. At least, I did when I was using WEN.

I tried WEN use a lot of product. I admire his business success. However, I was dissppointed in WEN product line. Scents are overwhelming especially if on chemo infusions like myself.

@bargainsgirl Others have given great advice that I agree with. The number of pumps are different given the size of the bottle. I just know after using WEN for many years how much works for me. I would use the recommended pumps and start from there and see what works best for you. Also, the froth is key add in that water! I hope you find what works for you!
