WEN contains Chlorine??? I need your input!!!

Okay, I admit it. I am a sucker for the next beauty..age defying product that I see. I have tried Wen..not once...not twice...but now the third time each time trying a different formula because it appears that most everyone loves it. I figured it must be me. I am now on the lavendar and took it to my colorist to have him use. He rolled his eyes at me and began to read the ingredients. He knew the menthol was a cleaning agent and then tells me it has chlorine in it?? I thought it was suppose to extend your color?? After my first week with my TSV, I had one good hair day and the other ones make me look like my hair is oily on my crown. Am I just a small percent that this product wasn't made for??
