WEN and menthol - reason?

I'm curious. Does anyone know why menthol is in the CC's? I noticed it's left out of the new kids's line.

My guess is for the tingling sensation. In that, it's more to give the "clean/refreshed" feeling for adults; whereas, kids wouldn't care.

I know WEN truly cleans. Is it just to add further to the "sensation" of cleanliness??
