Do you folks find that WEN Pets helps with shedding? Right now I am using the Furminator Anti-Shedding products, and they work tremendously well. (Our dogs are MAJOR shedders! You could construct new pets from the hair in the hallway, LOL.) I'm really interested in trying the Pet formula, but the focus seems to be on sensitive skin and the coat; Chaz never talks about whether it helps with shedding. (I think is dogs are a low-shed breed, so maybe it doesn't occur to him... or maybe I have missed that part!)

Thanks for any input.

Nope. Not here, anyway. My Golden is a big time shedder, too. I keep wanting to try that Furminator thing, but I'm afraid I'll do something wrong and end up cutting his good hair.

LOL, the Furminator tool is super easy to use. It's basically a comb that has a razor in it. I don't think there's any way you could actually hurt the dog with it. I have one for dog and one for cats. (The cats are easier to do than the dogs, who hate being groomed.) But I also use the Furminator shampoo and conditioner on my dogs--they are specially formulated to stop shedding. I find they don't stop shedding completely, but they do make a huge difference. (So, we can construct only a SMALL pet vs. a LARGE one, LOL.)

But I do also add WEN (regular WEN--the formulas that don't work well for my hair) in the conditioning cycle. Smiley Happy

I just used the Wen pets on my beasts for the first time a couple days ago. One of them in insistent about rolling around on anything he sees, and right after a bath he's determined to "fix" himself by rolling in everything (he's determined to get rid of the good stuff so he can smell like a dog!!). He rolled in something this morning and came in with every inch of his fur brown instead of his normal white color. I grabbed a pet wipe and ran it over him real quick and he was good as new! For punishment (kidding, lol) I made him stand still while I misted him with BGT. Ha, mom wins again!!

Google Dinovite. Its supplement (holistic) you sprinkle over their food. I had a Bernese mountain dog whose hair would shed in chunks. He was also really itchy. We got dinovite for him and within weeks he literally had no more shedding. Very minimal but no more chunks of hair laying in the carpet. Regular brushing and grooming helps a lot too (don't know if you already do that). If you are familiar with bernese mountain dogs, you know they have very long thick hair so dinovite was a miracle for us! He was so much more comfortable too

Mine came yesterday! I ordered it for my parents dog. Dropped it off to my parents today and mom already called me, she loves it and she hasn't seen the benefits yet! She was just happy how he felt and smelled! Ha! I told her let me know in a month how he's doing then we can give a review. I'm hopeful that it will help his hot spots and allergies.

Will WEN Pets work on small animals, like hamsters, ferrets, gerbils and such?

I don't know that it's been tested for these animals. Don't they usually clean themselves? I think WEN Pets has only been tested and approved for dogs and horses. Your best bet would be to call Chaz's studio/salon talk with a CSR.

True, most of these animals do wash themselves and don't get as dirty as dogs do, since dogs do like to roll around in the grass and the mud. Saw the video of one of Chaz's dogs all muddy, dirty and had a look on her face as if to say, "lookie, Daddy! I rolls-ed in the dirt!" {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Very nice posts. got a kick out of ferrets and gerbil question. I tried it on my cat but then discovered it had tea tree oil and got scared and I slathered it on her but nothing happened to her. She does get dirty. I use Sweet Almond Mint on her. Nice posts though.
