Would love to hear about vitamin c serums from those who have used or using them now. What is your favorate brand of serum and what positive results have you seen. Also can I mix them with peptide serums. TIA

Re: Vitamin c serum

I've use this consistently for the last three years, based on a recommendation from @SilleeMee.  It has the best form of vitamin C - Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (aka - THDA).

@Love4cats - THDA benefits the skin in many ways, some of which can’t actually be seen.  It reduces hyperpigmentation for a more even, brighter skin tone while offering protection from ultra violet light damage.  It supports the production of collagen.  As an antioxidant it protects the skin from free radical damage and oxidative stress.  THDA the most stable version of Vitamin C.  Even though it’s a oil form this serum doesn’t feel oily on the skin.  It’s non-irritating and has better penetration and is more effective than the watery versions of Vitamin C that dry on the surface before they can penetrate.  The Lab Direct serum is sold on ShopLC.  Sometimes they have a great sale where it makes sense to stock up.  The THDA won’t go bad fast like L-ascorbic acid does.  I’d recommend trying a bottle and then watching for a sale.  If you prefer ordering from Amazon, find a serum with the specific ingredient Tetrahexyldecyl  Ascorbate (THDA).

I've been using Timeless Skin Care's Vitamin C - 20% - for years.  They have a 10% option also.  I may try other brands but always go back to Timeless.

@Love4cats

I've just started using the new Remedy Vitamin C serum and am really loving the results.  My skin is truly visibly brighter, plus it has Ectoin in it (I recommend researching it).

Does the Remedy dry down or is absorbed.   My biggest complaint with Vitamin C serums is the tacky, sticky or shiny look.   I have been using the Lab direct power punch but always looking for something better.  The power punch goes right in and leaves no residue so I have stuck with that.  No noticeable results though.

I also use THDA like @JeanLouiseFinch  does but I make my own serum using  pure THDA mixed into a base solution. I've been making my own VC serum for a long time.

Here's a chart showing the various types of VC:

The blue bars mean you can layer them but be aware that their applications need time in between steps or use them on different ends of the clock to avoid conflict and/or irritation.

Same here ...  I really like the Timeless Vit C and use their 20%.  I've never tried The Lab,  and may when I'm getting low on the Timeless.  I bought the biggest bottle and use it all over.

I even bought their travel pouches and take them with me when we go away.  Very convenient.

Love that chart every time you show it, @SilleeMee - It's a good reminder.
