I have oily skin and have found the Fresh Seaberry oil has balanced my skin.
I am thinking of using it under my make-up, esp the under eye area to help with fine lines.
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for using oil as a moisturizing primer?
TIA

Maybe this isn't what you want to hear, but I'd be careful about applying oil to my skin before makeup. I can envision the makeup essentially sliding off or disappearing. My understanding is that a primer seals in the skincare, but creates a barrier of sorts at the same time so that the makeup stays on the surface where you put it. If you want the extra treatment of the oil under your eyes in the AM, do that, but then I think you'll still need a primer over it.

I use the following in this order: Serum, Argan Oil (Reg or Light), Moisturizer, Eye Cream (let it all soak in for a few minutes if I have time) Primer, then makeup. I have combo skin that's more oily in the summer & more dry in the winter, and I have no problem with my makeup sliding off my face. If the oil is helping balance your skin then I say go for it, but you probably should use a primer before makeup. Try it out, and if it is too oily, cut back on the oil to see if that helps, or if it's really not working for you then you know.

Oil is not the same as a primer and doesn't serve the same function, just like a cream moisturizer isn't a primer.
Do you mean can you use it as a moisturizer under makeup? I can in some places and not others. I do use oil under my makeup around my eyes and on some dry patches I have, but not all over. I think I'll do it more often in the winter when I get more dry. It also depends on the foundation I am using. It takes some experimenting to see what you can manage. I started not using any and then tried dry spots and then my under eyes.

I use oils under my makeup- some oils are better for this than others. If you use a light hand when applying it (just tap a little around the eyes) and wait a little while before you apply makeup, then you should be fine, especially since you said it has helped to balance out your skin it doesn't sound like it is too oily. I don't use a primer afterwards but I am more on the dry side than oily. You can also set your makeup with a setting powder or something like Mally's poreless face defender product.

I use a couple drops of Argan oil in the morning for my face, neck and dec, hands, and hair and let it soak in. I don't use any make-up primer.

If you find you need a primer, Wayne Goss is giddy about Skindinavia (about their makeup setting spray, too). I think the primers are sprays, and I think they have one for oilier skin as well (you can tell I haven't tried them with all the "I thinks" :-)
Might Google for reviews and see if it interests you -- IF you find you need a primer. :-)

OP, congrats on finding something that has helped to balance your skin, which isn't always an easy task.
Without knowing what type of make up your using (liquid foundation or powder) it's hard to say, but when I use oils as my last skin care application, sometimes one of my SPF's (ASDM) is enough to allow for a smooth application of the finishing powder/s that I use. If I use my Devita spf (which at times I mix w/ASDM or use alone), then I need something, such as a "primer" (I don't use conventional primers), so my powders, which include blush, don't catch.
I've never considered using oils as a primer, but to give your skin a smooth, ready for powder finish, you could mix your oils with some Aloe Gel or similar. I find that mixture leaves a nice smooth finish and my powders are less likely to absorb any oils. This also works great around the eyes. I use an aloe mixture, gel, some of my serums, or sometimes I just make my own, it's really easy.
If your using a liquid foundation, then the oils can be your last treatment step, followed by a spf if it's physical. If it's a chemical spf, then that would be applied first then treatments then oils and finally liquid foundation. You may not need a primer is your using oils and a liquid foundation.
