Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

Yep, I'm trying to do the same. I could probably make it a year on samples alone that I've gotten from Sephora, Nordstrom, etc. I'm not buying another cleanser either until I've gone through my Josie Maran, Fresh, Clinique, Philosophy and Tatcha. It is ridiculous what I've accumulated...seriously ridiculous.

Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

BTDT a couple years ago, so right now I don't have to use anything up. Just my daily things, which are so simple, really, yet the most effective for me.

I still have a couple of ingredients on the back burner, but I am not enticed in the least by the latest & greatest -- gadget or cream/serum.

Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

Count me in!!! At 61, no cream is going to lift, tuck, tighten or anything else except moisturize.

It is exciting to think about how much $$$$ this could save......maybe enough for fillers and Botox LOL !!!{#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

I use Aveeno skin brightening cleanser. a touch of Palmer's skin oil and a bit of Burt's Bees eye cream at night. My skin looks great, I feel likw it can breathe and I've stopped spending a fortune on stuff that really doesn't do anything.

Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

I was VERY proud of myself because I did NOT buy Perricone's TSV. I've actually done it all over the last 20 years, I keep telling myself I won't buy into it and there I go, buying it! Another set of "age defying" stuff that I use for a few weeks, see no improvement and under the cabinet it goes.

I'm not doing that anymore and have pretty much used up what I've stored. There are a few I like, like Strivectin's neck cream but found it doesn't last, but it's a very nice cream and tightens for a little while. My most disappointing one was the Algenist line, did nothing for me. No long have patience with Denese's line. I figure if the actual person developing the line gets herself cosmetic surgery rather than depend on her own creams, then something's off.

Anyway, not much change from any of those products for this girl.... so I use Olay's Regenerist, Strivectin neck cream and Peter Thomas Roth's sample kit (for the acid pad) but also enjoy the other products that come with it. That's it. No more $200 kits for me....

I do love Olay's Regenerist and have been using it faithfully and have found that my skin has shown an improvement over the couple of years I've been using it, more even color, softer lines and wrinkles, softer overall feel, etc. Well worth the $29.00 or so they charge for it! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Me too, just use one brand of moisturizer, serum and eye cream, the same three products morning and night. It's just so liberating!

Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

I learned this lesson several years ago -- the hard way. The numerous, expensive serums and potions overloaded my skin and it rebelled strongly. I was a mess.

I love my skin care life today: cleanse well and moisturize. In my case I use a Clarisonic with the fabulous cashmere brush, followed by Josie's milk and oil. Cleanse again at night and use a moisturizer with retinol. Done and done. My skin has honestly never looked better.

(but I still love to watch many of the skin care shows -- I just don't buy anymore).

I use Olay Regenerist and I love and notice the difference it has made for my skin. For those considering it, I highly recommend it!

I have so much now and yet always go back to olay regenerist which is the best for me. I don't know why I keep trying other things than go back to olay. I must have 2 shoe boxes full of stuff so, like a lot, going to go out into the trash on recycling day to make room for other things that are needed(not skin care related).

I too highly recommend Oil of Olay Regenerist line. I love the original clear as a primer and before bed I use the regenerist microsculpture serum than night time Elixir and for daytime the original clear regenerist than the microsculpture moisturizing cream, red jar. Some days I just use the regenerist clear than my foundation which is moisturizing enough over that since that also does moisturize.

Re: Using Up My Creams & Serums!!!!!

I'm 46 and have been lucky in always having great skin. I've tried a lot of different things over the years. Now all I do is splash with water in the morning and use either Dove soap, Noxzema, Olay Age Defying Cleanser, or a Target dupe of Cetaphil to take off my makeup at nite. If my skin feels dry afterwards I put on a moisturizer. I have a bunch of free ones I've gotten in Estee Lauder or Clinique gift with purchases so don't ever buy any moisturizers. I quit using sunscreen during the day as I'm in an office all day and by the time I leave the active ingredients wouldn't be working anymore plus I don't think all that stuff in the sunscreen is good for you(although I know the sun is bad for you). You have to weigh it out. I don't think any of the claims they make about skincare are true. It's a load of you know what to sell. If there was 1 fantabulous product that worked--everyone would be talking about it. All you need is a good cleanser that doesn't strip your face and if your face does feel dry then put on a moisturizer.
