Using Hair Straightening Tools

I just ordered the Drybar Crush Brush ( to be used on dry hair). It seems it is recommended to use a heat protection spray when using the brush. I own Nick Chavez Velvet Mesquite Serum and Moroccanoil Treatment, can I use that instead or should I invest in a heat protection spray?

Re: Using Hair Straightening Tools

You will need to determine how "heat" affects this Velvet Mesquite Serum and Moroccanoil Treatment you have.  If there is no warning about heat in the directions, call their CS dept to confirm.

Or you can test a "small" section of your hair to see what happens.

Furthermore you do not need to "invest" in heat protection spray.  You can pick one up at the Dollar Store.

Re: Using Hair Straightening Tools

Hot tools can get gunked up with some styling products if the products are not meant to be used with heat. It's best to use the right kinds of stuff on your hair when heat styling it. Tresemme makes a couple of very good heat protectant sprays and they are not expensive.
