@SilleeMee , so the Lion Pose has zinc, but it's still a physical sunscreen which is what I guess I meant above.  Both mineral and zinc are physical sunscreens, right?

@Icegoddess

Physical means the same thing as mineral. Zinc is a mineral and blocks the sun's rays like an umbrella.

@SilleeMee , then why would they say to wait 3-5 minutes to apply makeup?

Re: Update on my search for Sunscreen for Face

I have given up on mineral sunscreens even though I prefer them coz I haven't found one that doesn't leave a white cast. tinted does not give me the right shade, either too light, too dark, too orange or too yellow. Until then I will stick to whatever I like to use regularly.

@Icegoddess

To let the mineral ss dry down completely. If you don't wait for mineral ss to dry thoroughly then anything you apply on top of it will disrupt the SPF barrier.  Use a fan to help speed up the dry time.

I only use zinc oxide mineral sunscreen, no issues.

Wearing a hat and keeping covered up works partially but UV radiation still goes through fabric unless it is UPF rated. You will still get sun damage when not wearing UPF-rated hats and UPF-rated clothing.

@SilleeMee

I wear a hat and sunscreen on my face.  The rest of me is totally covered up, including my hands and feet.  I do what I can!  Also, I am not doing yard work in the hottest part of the day.  I cannot handle heat or sun -- unfortunately!

@Icegoddess

I have different conditions with my skin so I cannot tolerate any fabric which holds heat in or is heavier.  I just make sure that I am totally covered with either sunscreen and/or clothing.  I am not out any more than I need to be and I am trying my hardest to be protected considering the health conditions that I have.

Re: Update on my search for Sunscreen for Face

I have so appreciated everyone's tips, information, recommendations, etc.  Just reading your posts have been so helpful and informative.  If I let myself think about all of this, i.e., sunscreens --- which ones, what they do or don't do, when to use them or not, waiting or not waiting, clothing, etc. - I get sort of overwhelmed.  I have decided that I will take in info regarding these things and just do what I feel is best for me, without getting bogged down in too much over-thought and over-processing.  Yikes -- I have so many other issues regarding my health and DH's health that I need to clear my head out.  Ever feel this way?  In any event, I am so grateful for all the kind and so very intelligent posters here who are always, always, willing to help!!!
