As seems usual for these brands of wigs sold on the Q, the roots are notably darker than the rest of the hair.  I find that annoying and frankly, rather ugly for my own color, which is medium ash blonde.  Having dark brown roots on a blonde wig is ridiculous, because, news flash QVC, there are people with naturally blonde hair in this world, we don't all BLEACH our hair to get it that color!

In trying to think of a fix for that problem, since I would love to buy that curly wig (too long since my last perm, my hairdresser moved away, not vaccinated yet nor for a while at this rate, etc., etc., etc.) I wondered what you beauty experts think about this idea.

Could one use root cover up spray to cover the dark roots on those wigs?  Would it bind adequately to the artificial hair fibers?  Does it even come in blonde colors to cover dark roots, or only in dark colors to cover grey roots?

Please chime in, anyone who has used those sprays, I look forward to hearing from you!

Re: Upcoming TSV wig-root color

@CamilleP  I cought part of a wig show recently on either QVC or HSN, sorry I can't be specific and they had the choice of dark roots or no dark roots for blonde wigs.

Re: Upcoming TSV wig-root color

@mspatmac  Thanks for the info.  I'd be interested in a blond wig as the one I have needs replacement; HOWEVER, under no circumstances would I purchase one with dark roots.  NO WAY,NO HOW...

@CamilleP @Go to Paula young color 101.  I am a blond gone silver and dark roots are not acceptable.  QVC followers are not interested in that style.

I agree. QVC get rid of the dark roots. No one wants those.

@CamilleP  You can get a "good" wig for 39-49 dollars, to get started and learn how to wear one before you spend over $100

The TSV does come in a non-rooted beige-blonde shade this time around. Also. yes you can use a root touch-up spray or powder to fake a rooted look.

Re: Upcoming TSV wig-root color

Thank you, @Desi   Sadly, the curly wig is completely sold out, so I won't get a chance to try root spray on the palest blonde color with the dark roots.  It may come back in stock at a higher price down the line, and I can try it then.  Honestly, if they'd have offered it in the light grey color instead of just the dark, "salt&pepper" grey, I'd have ordered that, since my ash blonde is greying into something that looks more platinum, and will eventually go all silver white with time.  I should have just ordered one and figured that if the root spray didn't work, I could wash it, let it dry, and send it back.  I wonder, if I call the operator, if they can place a waitlist order for me?  Thanks again, Desi!

Re: Upcoming TSV wig-root color

You are very welcome. I think you can put yourself on Wait-list, or call, probably pretty easy to grab an operator right now. I'm sure you'd get your shade eventually. People don't send in checks, CCs are declined, etc.  Good luck! I wish they'd have a light brown with gray towards the front and temples. That would be good for me since there are no shades that blend with my colors either.
