I think if she is happy with herself and within herself, then that is wonderful -- and that is all that matters! I honestly would rather see this than how a lot of the people we see on t.v. and in the movies have pumped their faces up so much with stuff that they are not even hardly recognizable any longer - or even look real!
I have never done any kind of fillers or procedures and won't, but if someone wants to, then that is fine. I have really sensitive skin and a lot of skin issues, so I can't even use retinoids but I still try to take care of my skin by cleansing and moisturizing faithfully. I wear a minimal amount of makeup - just enough to try to cover some of the rosacea issues.
Oddly enough, over the last couple of months I have had more compliments on my skin than I have had in years! Each time I do I am so shocked that I can't believe they are talking to me??? But they always say - you skin is so beautiful -- and how can you be 73 years old! I am sincerely touched by the compliments, but when I look in the mirror I don't see what they are seeing! LOL!
Anyway, I feel if going completely natural makes you happy --great! If having procedures and/or using makeup does --- then that is great too!!
Blessings to each and every single one here!

Maybe, but I think the greatest anti-aging product ever invented is a sincere, warm smile.

@MissRose722 Wow, your story is my story as well, including the COVID timing and inheriting your mother's silver hair. The whole process took me about 9 months with the help of my stylist but I am now all silver and I am amazed, at almost 77 years of age, the compliments I have received.
One lady in the grocery store said my hair was stunning and wondered if I was Scandinavian because it looked platinum and this past summer when I was getting my hair trimmed, a very young girl in the next chair asked her stylist how to get her color like mine! I told her she might have to wait 50 years. lol.
I always wear makeup and like to put my best foot forward out of personal pride because it's what I've always done. it makes me feel more confident but I'm not overly concerned about aging. It's all part of a full life.

I've always liked Linda Hamilton as an actress. Her beauty was "different" looking to me somehow than other actresses back then. I liked that. I saw her most recently in "Resident Alien", and it reminded me of the passage of time.
There will always be people who look younger or older than others, whatever that means nowadays. Genetics, lifestyle, health issues, meds, diet, skin care, fillers, procedures, surgeries, makeup, hair color, etc. will all impact your look.
It's none of my business what others do, but it seems to matter to some. It's a shame that we are still judged so harshly regardless of what we do, or don't do, and how we look.
I'm in my 60s, and I still wear makeup, but only when I go out. I've always preferred a more natural makeup look. I've never had fillers or surgeries, but I do highlight my dark blonde hair to hide greys. I may eventually give that up, but I'm not ready to do that yet. I think using sunscreen on my face daily since I was a teen and having oily skin has helped my face age gracefully. I don't like my sagging lower jowls, but I doubt I would ever have surgery to fix that.
Hope Everyone has a Wonderful Weekend!

@MissRose722 Thank you so much for your kind words. It sounds like we both had lovely mothers who showed us we could embrace aging and still look well.
In her later years at 90 my mother showered every day, put on a little lipstick and blush and always her little pearl stud earrings and one of many pretty periwinkle robes, her favorite color. I hope to follow in her footsteps. Above all, she was kind and warm and interested in others. I know I was lucky.
All the best to you and yours @MissRose722 at this holiday season.

I love my Grey hair. It is silver getting whiter, thick short bob and trimmed every month. More healthy now not colored as well. I thankfully inherited my Dad's thick silver color as my Mother had a mousey grey that she used a rinse on.
I had a woman come up to me raving about my hair color change but she could never bring herself to do it. Have you ever seen YouTube shorts with Grey haired models modeling classic colors and styles? Probably AI generated, but lovely older women with thick Grey hair. Gorgeous.
Harsh dark hair color with a white roots at the crown or greying side hairline around the face is not attractive. Coloring needs to be softened, lightened or highlighted to look more natural in older age.

I usually don't post, but I had to give another perpective on this. I call it, "I was almost there, but I came back".
I'm turning 75 later this month, but I always put makeup on during the week and forego it on the weekends, unless we have plans. I enjoy using skincare and am told I don't look my age. I live in Texas, on the Mexican border and I have no intention of getting any kind of enhancements to my face. My hairdresser can identify the surgeons who perform the enhancements by their style (big lips, stretched out face). I don't want to be thought of that way. Most women here go to Mexico for the (cheaper) procedures anyway and I don't see risking my life traveling to Mexico to look younger.
Earlier this year I had a terrible fall in our backyard while bringing in our bird feeders for the evening. I tripped and fell on the flat stones on the pathway to the tree, falling hard on the left side of my face. I had hairline fractures in my C2 vertebra (back of my neck), my left wrist and left knee, inaddition to a large hematoma over my left eye. I was in the hospital for a week and in rehab for my knee, neck and wrist injuries for another week.
My face looked like something from a horror movie. Even the facial recognition on my phone no longer recognized me! I did not wear makeup for over 6 weeks after the fall, since there was no way to mask the bruises and my double shiners.
After my hospital stays I had to go to follow-up doctor's offices using a walker. I could not believe the reaction from people when they saw me. They were horrified. At two doctor's offices people moved away from me when I sat next to them in the waiting room. It was quite an experience, to say the least. My husband, who accompanied me to the doctors could not believe how I was treated by people either.
When I first came home I avoided my skincare routine thinking, why bother? I seriously considered throwing out my prized makeup collection.
Little by little, though I began to exfoliate, moisturize and eventually I restored my makeup routine. I'm feeling better about myself again.
Maybe when/if I live to 80 I will reconsider this all again. But for now, I'm back, baby!
