Two Paula's Choice makeup items

I received an e-mail from Paula's Choice that they are discontinuing two of their cosmetic products: the Nude Mattes shadow palette and the SunKissed Custom Color Bronzer.

I think the shadow palette is one of the best of its kind. I love the large selection (12 shades) and the quality. I also have the bronzer and like it as well. It's a very good choice for fair through medium skins and is matte.

I have *almost* purchased that bronzer a dozen times. But why do I always forget when she's having sales?? Lol!! I do have the shadow palette - it's great!

My pet peeve in this beauty industry is discontinuing items people really like and many have 4 to 5 stars or loved a lot. We come to depend on that. Lancome still have my lippie shades I <3 and other lines are holding on to tried 'n trues but I don't buy much from people who as we say in Nursing d/c (discontinue) things often. Estee L. has been great to their clientele, 10 years ago or so brought in many changes but they still keep products people love for a long long time. I buy my core skin care from online skinstores, they are like cosmeceuticals. ..I know they are always there and love that feeling. Oh and Trish McEvory is infamous for  d/c's! grrr and she does this on basic shades of e/s and also her 'medium matte bronzer now' grrr, it can only be sold in her store in NYC when I asked. I have a lot left it lasts but my sis loved it..her other ALL her other bronzers have shimmer...a lot. Sometimes we just don't want that as I put my own shimmer on or my blush has shimmer in it. I emailed CS about it-mentioning a matte bronzer is always a must and keep the shimmer ones too but it's a good idea to stick with basics I said -they were very nice...hope they pass good info on, b/c it's basics in beauty lines.

I have never ventured into PC's makeup line. I'm sure these kinds of palette's come and go but a mascara or something wouldn't. Surprised her bronzer has been, I'd have liked it from what ya said..omgosh like I need another bronzer :-O

@mimi5775. PC's customer service has told me that their cosmetics are not necessarily permanent, although some do stick around about as along as other brands' cosmetics.  I thought that the shadow palette was a limited edition.

I think that they are primarily a skin care outfit. But I have been really liking the mascara I bought, so much so that I purchased two more during their big sale.

@suzyQ3 thanks...I doubt I'd buy makeup from her then..if I like  it and it's gone I really hate that. She mostly a skincare line, agree...and there are enough cosmetics out there [duh] so no need for her really to bother with hers

I wonder when the nude pallette will be going on sale.  I'd like to pick up one more since they last almost forever.

I remember when they were a freebie at one time if you spent I think $50 or more. I don't know whether it will go on sale, but you could always use one of the promos that float around.

I, too, thought about getting another one but then decided against it. I never hit pan on shadows anyway.

Re: Two Paula's Choice makeup items

Both the Paula's Choice items look nice but I doubt I would ever use that many matte eyeshadows. Same reason I won't buy the IT Cosmetics eyeshadow palette.

I like looking at all of those palettes that come out around Christmas but I also realize that most of those contain colors I won't use and sometimes the compacts are too big to fit in my drawer. I do have a nice 4 shadow matte palette from Quo (that makeup brand is at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada) but I also think it was an item that got discontinued too.

Re: Two Paula's Choice makeup items

I love my PC matte palette! I am not even a big matte shadow person (I prefer a bit of shimmer) but these are excellent. I am really happy with the purchase and kind of sad to see it go but I rarely hit pan on palettes so I am sure it will last me forever.
