Tweak'd Products

[ Edited ]

Recently HSN had some specials on this brand and I purchased three of them, two of which I had never tried. I am curious to know if anyone else have tried these products and what your personal experience has been, if you have tried them.

Tweak'd Coco-Nutty Rescue Cream and Tweak'd by Nature Alpine Bloom (The XtraOrdinary Elev8'd Cream).

I just received the Nature Alpine Bloom and was pleasantly surprised. When you open the tub, the product is very light and fluffy. Reminds me of Cool Whip (cream). My hands were exceptionally dry today because of working out in the yard in the sun. I thought this would be a good time to try out this product. WOW!! My hands feel especially soft.

Have to admit than when I first applied it, it felt sort of greasy. But as I worked it in, it was not greasy at all. In fact, one of the ways to test a cream is to see if you can snap your fingers after it has fully absorbed, instead of your fingers being too slippery to snap. I could snap my fingers with no problem!

I haven't opened the Coco-Nutty Rescue Cream, as the tubs are large (15.75 ounces), so I don't want to have both of them open at the same time.

I find this product to be awesome for the whole body, and according to the chart below, it serves several needs.......can use it as an eye cream, morning and evening cream, makeup primer, and body cream.

The third product I got was the Tweak'd by Nature 10.58 ounce Tribal Chocolate Cleansing Hair Treatment. I am pretty sure I have tried this item before, but many years ago. The word chocolate got me to purchase it.

This is an unusual way (for me) to cleanse hair. You first apply some of it to your dry hair and work it in for a couple of minutes. Then you rinse it out. The third step is to apply more (1 teaspoon for my short hair), work it in, mixing with water, and wash your for around three minutes. Then rinse out.

This product left my hair feeling really nice and clean, and very soft. It also left my hair shiny. It mentioned you can use your regular styling products after washing your hair, but I didn't. I wanted to know how it felt without anything added. Loved it! Would just have to get used to applying it to dry/dirty hair first, then pop in the shower to use as a regular shampoo.

Anyway, I was just curious if anyone else uses these products regularly.

I have the Rescue Cream in Tribal Chocolate and there's nothing I like about it.  Don't care for the consistency and don't like the scent at all and it's a bit strong.  The Tribal Chocolate scent is supposed to be a replacement for Tawaka which I loved, but I don't think it is anything like it.

The cleansing product is the original Tweak'd product.  Tried it.  Hated it.  I just don't like putting it into dry hair.

I'm not anti-Tweak'd.  I have and use several of his products. The Elev8'd cream sounds interesting.

Hello, I use and absolutely LOVE Tweak'd products. My hair is naturally wavy and course, so I tend to stick to the more moisturizing formuls. Right now I'm using honeylux. The smell is amazing and my hair is moisturized and shinny. I have coco nutty waiting for when this is done. My absolute favorite is the tribal chocolate. Oh my gosh the scent!! As far as rescue cream, I only use for body moisturizer. I don't wear make up to try as a primer or even put moisturizer on my face. All the scents are wonderful, not a bad one in the bunch. I'm glad you like the products recently purchased! Definitely a line worth trying for anyone who is on the fence.

@Icegoddess   Thanks for your honest appraisal of the products you personally tried. I am, however, glad I purchased and tried them before I read your review. LOL!!!  I may not have gone any further to try the items after reading how much you disliked them.

I like hearing opposing views, so thank you again. Smiley Happy

@stb13   Sounds like you and I have similar tastes. Smiley Happy

Yes, the scent of the Tribal Chocolate is delicious. I'm a huge chocolate lover, so it is not surprising that I like it as a hair treatment/shampoo. Just have to get used to the different way of using it by putting it on dry hair first.

I doubt I would use the Rescue Cream as a primer either and these days I'm not much of a makeup wearer; however, I will try it as a night cream and see what happens.

I think the reason I have not been interested in this line of products before is that I am not a fan of watching Denis and his presentations. He continually talks about his mother's problems in the past and how he created these products for her at a critical time in her life, and he always seems so emotional. I would think after all these years he would not break down and cry. I may be cynical here, but it seems to me he is using his tears and emotional tone to make more sales. I could be wrong and if so, I apologize for coming to that conclusion. He very well may be a wonderful son.

I am also enjoying the Aveda Cherry Almond I got during their TSV. That too leaves my hair feeling wonderful!

I really like the Tweak'd products I use, they do a nice job on my hair.  I alternate between the cleansing treatment, the hair scrub and the "regular shampoo and condtionner" Denis has.  I also use the rescue cream and like it.  The Pure  and Vanilla Amber have a lighter consistency that i like.  Some of the rescue creams are thicker like honey lux and agua de coco, but I just heed to emulsify it in my hand to get them creamier/ serum like.  Enjoy your products.  Oh, I also have  the Churi styler cream and Denis's hairsprays.  I think his products keep my color treated hair better looking.

@TerryNJ   Thanks for mentioning some of the other Tweak'd products. A couple you mentioned I would like to try. Vanilla Amber sounds great as I love vanilla in anything, especially candles. And I would be interested in the Honey Lux and possibly the Agua de Coco.

The pricing when I purchased my items was very, very good, especially the Rescue Creams. The prices are higher now, but still very reasonable for the amount you get.

Just a little bit ago I tried the Rescue Cream on my eye area and my full face. WOW! That really does leave a nice velvety feel to my skin. I went a little lighter with the amount tonight and it goes a long way. Really like the light fluffy texture coming out of the jar! For some reason, when I open the jar it reminded me of Josie Maran and how she would stick her finger in her whipped body butter to show how light and fluffy it was. LOL!

World Traveler, I have been using Denis' products for about 20 years...first as the brand Ojon with his wife Sylvana on-air at QVC, now Tweak'd at HSN. I have long, naturally curly, thick hair that loves to frizz. (I tried Wen, as well, but it took so much product to treat my hair that it was hard to rinse out and left me greasy.) I use the cleansing conditioner, but usually skip the pre-treatment and just use it in the shower. FYI, I recently suffered significant hair loss due to Covid and major stress...I have been babying my hair and continue with Tweak'd, also added Guerlain hair mask. Hair is so much better (and I REALLY lost a lot, about 1/3).

I used OJON many years ago. I found it more moisturizing than Tweak'd for my hair. The fact that he named it 'tweaked" seems to mean he changed the formula from OJON.

Re: Tweak'd Products

When I first became introduced to Tweak'd, the cleanser was like foam shaving cream in a big can.  I tried it but didn't stick with it.  Since then, I tried it again and became a true convert.  Tweak'd shampoo, conditioner, and cleansing treatment have worked better for me than WEN ever did.  The scalp scrub was/is drying, so I'm glad Denis developed the creamier cleansing treatment.  The styling products that I use work well for me. I like the all purpose creams for my body but don't really consider them for the face except on very rare occasion.  I can't say I've ever had a scent that I disliked.
