Tweak'd HSN Weekly Deal Drop Question

627-066 Tweak'd Dhatelo Restore Cleansing Hair Treatment

Is this more like the Restore Treatment oil in consistency or more like a cream?  I hated his original cleansing product in the tube that you put in your hair prior to shampooing for 2 reasons.

1.  It felt really yucky trying to put it in my hair.  my hair would stick to my hands.

2.  The wait time before getting in the shower.

However, if it is not creamy and more like the Restore Treatment Oil which I dig out of with the back of my fingernail, I could do that.  For one, I could put it in my hair before I go to the gym if it doesn't gunk it up.

I am in search of a new cleansing conditioner/CoWash after it appears my favorite has been discontinued.  Surprise, surprise.  Actually, it seems the entire brand has gone AWOL.  Their website indicates they will return soon, but the date indicates maybe not.  I'm not loving the Ouidad one I was trying.  I found one on Amazon I'm thinking of trying, but I want some options and there's really not a lot out there.  I won't use WEN because it apparently (from what I read) doesn't really work unless you use a lot of product. That's just not me.

Too bad I missed out on all the fragrance choies.  I know I like the amber vanilla, but would like to try something else.  I'm thinking Lemongrass.  Frangipani sounds really flowery to me and I know I wouldn't like that.  I have the vision of getting something like Jungle Gardenia in my head.  Someone dropped and broke a bottle of that stuff at church when I was a teenager and I've hated it ever since.

@Icegoddess I've not tried the Treatment Oil, but this is not a hard consistency that you need to dig out with a nail.  I'd say it's more like a thick cream you can scoop out with your finger.  You may want to check the video (although they may have changed it) as I thought they might have showed the consistency at one point.

I've used both the older ones in the tube and the newer ones in the tub.  I prefer the newer ones that are higher lathering as opposed to just frothy.  The one left that lathers I believe is the lemongrass.  While I don't have any problem putting some on my dry hair as a pre-treatment, I don't think you have to (I wouldn't put it on before the gym as I think it's meant to go on just for a few minutes and then shower). I think you can add it in the shower as you would a cleansing conditioner.  The higher lather ones really do seem like using shampoo.

Hope that helps.  I'm sure others will weigh in.

@sueinsf Thanks.  They did not show the consistency in the video that is currently up for the product, but I found one for the smaller sized one and it is more cream-like.

Lather is not a big issue since I'm accustomed to cleansing conditioners which don't lather.  I do shampoo once a week, and clarify once a month before I color.

The other scent isn't Frangipani as I thought; it's Fleur Blanc which still sounds flowery to me.  If I get it, Ill go with the Lemongrass or Amber Vanilla.

@Icegoddess - the cleansing treatment is a creamy consistency.  It is not hard or oily, and there are no scrubbies in it.  The method is similar, though.  Take an appropriate amount from the tub and apply it to dry hair before getting in the shower.  Let it sit there while the water is warming up and you get your towel and stuff ready - whatever your pre shower routine might be.  When you get in the shower, add some water and lather it up.  It's not a soapy lather.  Let is sit like that for a minute and rinse well.  It already has conditioner in it so no need to apply that separately.
