I used to use Ethocyn products.  Really liked them.

For the vials, there's 3 silicones which probably have a lot to do with the feel of it.

The active ingredient is Ethoxyhexyl-Bicyclooctanone (Ethocyn).

The full list is:

Cyclomethicone (Silicone), Dimethiconol (Silicone), Squalane (Moisturizer and lubricant), Ethoxyhexyl-Bicyclooctanone (Ethocyn), Dimethicone (Silicone), Retinyl Palmitate (Vit. A) (Antioxidant), Tocopheryl Linoleate (Vit. E) (Antioxidant), Evening Primrose Oil (Anti-inflammatory and improves barrier function).

I rather doubt you'll find another product with the active ingredient.  Maybe the patent has expired?

@Icegoddess @Tru Face Firming Serum has some of the same ingredients, including Ethocyn. @drizzellla

@Mindy D  I checked it out, is it made by Nu Skin?

Ouch! $211 and it doesn't say how many capsules there are. Looks like 30???

Guess vanity is expensive.

I was on auto-ship from HSN. After HSN stopped carrying the product, I bought from Derm Store. Then they stopped selling it. I was afraid to buy from Ebay. I read a comment about buying on Ebay. The person thought that the vial was opened and another product was added.

So I bought directly from Ethocyn. They had 3 different Serums. So I bought the "Hi Test".

@drizzellla I saw it soild on another site for the same price, and that site said 60 caps.  Odd that Nu Skin's site doesn't mention that.  Too pricey for me.  Looks like Nu Skin may have bought the rights to the ingredient or maybe the entire Chatal company.

@Icegoddess Excellent point!

I got an email from Ethocyn early 2021, stating that they were no longer going to sell the Ethocyn products. They were closing.

I had just bought product from them and unfortunately did not  open the email right away. I thought the email was regarding my recent order. The email stated that I had to have any new order in by a certain date.

So it makes lots of sense. If  Ethocyn sold the rights to the ingredients or the company. There was a certain time frame to order and Ethocyn no longer could sell their products after that date.

PS - Now that I think of it. Maybe that is why HSN stopped the autoship. If the company was being sold, HSN might not know if the new company will accept the same terms of their contract or will the new contract be acceptable. HSN had a time crush with autoship. I had it shipped every month. Plus you never know how long a sale might take to finalize.

And that is why Derm Store stopped selling Ethocyn too.

I just looked up 'Ethocyn', and one woman said she uses this:

"Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Serum"

I'm new to all this, having used Creme de la Mer for years, but perhaps I am going to try Dr Hauschka, I've heard good things about this line.

The claim is: Ethylhexyl-bicyclooctane, commonly known as ethocyn, is a small molecule and can thus easily be absorbed down as far as the dermis. However, while his molecule is believed to raise elastin production levels to young adult years, concrete scientific evidence is lacking.

The presentations always included models specific to the brand who had applied the Ethocyn product to only 1/2 their face.  Not sure how you get models who want to walk around forever with half their face treated.  It was a long-term product, not a temporary one that can be washed off.

Funny how different people get different results when they do the exact same search.

@drizzellla , I was never on autoship for things back then.  HSN stopped selling it long before 2021, so I guess only the Autoship orders continued to be filled.  The company actually went bakrupt and the owner did an illegal maneuver to maintain ownership, but in doing so one of her cohorts basically stole the company from her.  She got colon cancer and died.  The estate sued the guy in Singapore court and actually won.  The article I read didn't say what happened to the company at that point since it was looking more at how Singapore decided the case vs being about the company itself.  I think the article said Chantal died in 2018.
