Trying a new foundation today....

Headed out to play music and be with friends all day. I got a deluxe sample of the new Hourglass Immaculate liquid powder mattifying foundation. I've seen a couple reviews and thought I'd try. I applied with a flat top kabuki brush. Applied very nicely. No streaks. I got the color Nude. It's a good color for me right now. I don't need full coverage but would say this can be built up. The finish is beautiful on my skin. It dried down quickly and I still used a small amount of powder to set. My bronzer and blush went on nicely.

I know Hourglass products are expensive. Just thought I'd give my first impression and I'll check in later when I get home to let ya know how it holds up.

@wvumountiefan  I have dry skin so I had passed on this, like a more moist feeling and use their other foundation in Nude as well. The shades run dark so I use mine in summer or on days I when I want more color all over.

It's a nice line - I think doesn't enough attention. Glad you liked it!

Their primer is great I hear for a more matte feeling/look, it would go along super with this foundation you bought.

I use the same It brush you use to apply foundation but use others too (have many lol) and Hourglass's fdn brush I like so much...it's very different then any others.

Hope it held up for ya!

My skin is dry so mattifying won't work for me. However, I have two Hourglass foundations that I love. Their Seamless

I can't use mattifying due to my dry skin but love two other Hourglass Foundations. Their Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick and Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint are great for dry skin. The Skin Tint is actually a foundation and not a tint as the name implies. Both wear well and have a variety of shade ranges. The stick is a small size though so you can go through it quickly if used on a daily basis. Since I have an addiction to foundations, I do have other ones that I rotate.

@Tricolor @mimi5775  It wore very nicely throughout the day. I feel like most foundations that proclaim to be matte are sometime very thick and feel heavy. This one did not feel that way at all IMO. I don't know that I'll buy the full size as I have quite a few foundations but it was nice.

Re: Trying a new foundation today....

@wvumountiefan,   I am waiting for Laura Mercier to offer another sale (usually 20% off).  I am interested in her Flawless Fusion foundation which is medium to full coverage.  No weight foundation that will NOT transfer, is water proof, humidity proof, sweat proof and long wearing.  I like to wear a foundation that does not feel like one in the fall/winter months so I hope she has a sale soon.  It is normally $48.  What attracts me to  this specific foundation is it is weightless and does not transfer.  HeartCat Wink

@Katcat1  I've seen this foundation and some reviews and demos. It looks really nice. I may try to sample this the next time I'm at Sephora.

Re: Trying a new foundation today....

This foundation is not new, the delivey method has changed I have used this foundation off and on for a long time.

I have rosecea and very oily skin and this works wonders for my skin.

I like applying it with a brush more than a motorized brush.
