Tria: Week 9 / Recovery Week 1

Finally, I don't have to use that thing on my face tonight. My new Skinn kit with the vitamin C isn't here yet, so I'm going to use Isomers R-Intensive Serum for the first month or until this smallish bottle (1.05 oz.) is gone. Then I will switch to the Isomers moisture surge/huile/vitamin C cocktail.

Anyone else following the Canadian protocol (8 weeks on, 4 weeks off), what are you using during this first month of downtime?

Congratulations on completing 8 weeks. Now for the fun! I am doing the 5 days on with 2 off and sometimes I take more than 2 off if my face is red. I can see on the days off that my skin is looking much improved. Can't wait to hear your results.

Re: Tria: Week 9 / Recovery Week 1

Next week will end my 8 week protocol. I have no particular plans. I have been using my routine products during the 8 weeks, not all at first. Early on for a brief time some spots seem to lighten up, but they really did not. Fortunately they are not dark to begin with, maybe they will improve during the healing time. I do see an overall improvement, even at this time, sort of a refreshed appearance.

Time will tell and I hope others will join in and report. I am contemplating the Derma Roller, but have not taken the time to learn.

Here's to some great results.

I will start week 8 tomorrow so I still have one more week to go but I plan to have a TCA peel in week 10, I've already made my appointment, and I'll start using retin-a again. I used retin-a a few times during my Tria treatment but was afraid that it was making my face too sensitive so I stopped using it.

I am in my 6th week and cant decide again if i want to return..Mine is not getting as hot and the laser does not feel as strong as it used to..My face hardly gets red, maybe a little on upper cheeks...Whole face was getting red before.I dont think i want yet another one sent to me so most likely will return...Maybe rebuy in the future if they redo these with no problems.

ETA i have been using all my normal Isomers skincare the whole time and .10% retinol. Also been using Cure Gel 2x a week....When i stop i might do a 40% glycolic peel that i have..

MidNight, my face isn't getting as red as it did in the beginning either and I worry that it isn't as strong as it was. Plus I average about 2 minutes and 5 seconds in each zone so I'm not getting the entire treatment time either... like you, I can't decide if I should return it, but if I do I want a replacement because I want to do a treatment round 2 once my 4 week rest period is up.

My replacement is way hotter than my first one. I still get red from it and I just hope that it doesn't stop. This was supposed to be my final week, but I am adding another week because of my first one not working right. The redness goes away fast, but it is hot. I sure hope I see some changes in my face, meaning tightening. That is basically what I got it for, hoping to tighten. OH WELL!!!

How's it going, Favorite Son?

I'm thinking that for a lot of us, last night was the Grand Finale -- hope they'll jump in and keep us posted.

My last night is tonight because I missed a day. My skin was red at first, then not, now it's been red and "tanned" again for a couple of weeks. I was toying with the idea of stretching it a couple of days and wrapping up on the 31st, but I think my skin has had enough. :-)

More than anything, I'm looking forward to rinsing my Tatcha and feeling that velvet skin instead of leather. :-) I'm not asking for much!

I'm glad we did the 8 weeks -- don't know if I could have hung on for 12, even with the 2 day breaks.

This is the first time I've stuck with any gadget for the entire protocol. I'm so curious to see what comes next. :-)

I thought we were supposed to use it for 12 weeks before the rest period. Can you guys tell me why your doing it different?

Re: Tria: Week 9 / Recovery Week 1

Deb0360 - Eight weeks of treatment (no breaks) followed by 4 weeks of rest was the original protocol used when the Tria first came out (in other counties) and was used by many people in Canada. The 12 week protocol is what our FDA approved for sale here. MarenSeattle did a lot of research and read pages and pages of a forum from Canada.

There was a lot of discussion about this when we ordered and some of us decided to use the 8 week session for 2 reasons. One is that the global protocol was not changed to 12 weeks and many of us suspected that the FDA regulations were responsible for this change, not Tria. The other reason was that since the collagen production takes place during the rest period, we would have 4 weeks remaining on the 90 day return policy to see if we actually had improvements during this time. If not, we could still return. If so, we will start another 8 week session after the 4 weeks of rest.
