Over the hill and through the woods to Sephora I went.  Actually it was just down the street or two and over the freeway overpass but the other sounds more exciting.

The reason I went was to check out the NARS creamy concealer as I've heard a lot about it.  Got color matched and WOW, it was spot on!  Now lets hope I like the concealer or else the search will continue.

Since I'm almost out of Paula's Choice Niacinamide, I decided to try The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide.  Trying less expensive alternatives where I can.  Will see how I like it when done with Paula's Choice - the price is right that's for sure!

Purchased the waterproof mascara of TARTE - Lights, Camera, Splashes.  I like the TARTE counterpart to this - Lights, Camera, Action so figured I was safe trying this out.

Now for the big purchase.  Big for me at least.  Never have I ever spent so much on an eyeshadow palette.  Decided to get the Natasha Denonna glam palette.  Not only have I heard about here but also heard about it quite a bit on beauty videos on youtube.  So this is stepping out of my comfort zone a bit on using shimmers but looking forward to trying it out.  It sure is a beautiful palette.

The best part of my trip to Sephora is having 2 sales associates telling me that I have "beautiful skin."  Oh hello!!  For this almost 67 year old that was so nice to hear.  When out with my DD a month ago, someone else told me that too.  Something I'm doing must be working!

Having a gift cert for Sephora made the trip less painful but I'm still shaking my head at spending so much on an eyeshadow palette.  LOL

@JUDY

Sounds like a fun trip. I hope you enjoy your new eyeshadow items.

Can I ask a question re: one of your items: Paula's Choice Niacinamide, I decided to try The Ordinary 10% Niacinamide.

I've seen people mention niacinamide on the boards quite a few times -- but what is it supposed to do for the skin and how do you incorporate it into your routine? Since I recently retired, I'm focusing more on skin care and less on makeup. I have used Dr. Denese products for years, but I've wondered off into trying new/different items.

TIA.

@JudyL - Sounds like you had a great time! I have to check out that Natasha Denona palette. I think that's one @Shanus recommends.  Smiley Happy

@JudyL   Solunds like you had a productive trip including compliments and a gift certificate. Whoa! If any of the shadows seem a bit shimmery, just tap your brush in a matte one of a similar shade. I think you'll love the colors. BTW, that's the Nars concealer I use, too...quite lightweight and blends easily.  Enjoy you purchases.

@kate2357 Niacinamide is great for helping your skin retain moisture...a lipid barrier. It can also reduce the look of pores and help redness....a lot of benefits.

@kate2357 I started using the Paula's Choice Niacinamide many months ago because I had read that it helps with the "orange peel skin" look one sometimes gets.  I had a bit of that on my cheeks and PC's serum got good reviews. Figured why not try it since I already used a lot of PC's products and trust the brand.  I'll say its helped a lot.  The "orange peel" look isn't completely gone but its a whole lot better and my skin feels so smooth.  Use it at night after my toner.  The bottle says you can use it both AM and PM so tried that and I think my skin improved a little bit more.  Use it in the AM after my Vit C.

Trying The Ordinary becaue of cost.  Its a lot less than Paula's Choice.

@JudyL That sounds like a great time.

Please, let us know how you feel about the new palette. I haven't tried anything from that brand, but I am always willing to be tempted.

I do love the Nars concealer.

@JudyL

I use PC's 10% Niacinimide Booster and really like it.  The good thing about her line is she has constant sales.  I am mostly a PC product user and never buy anything at full price.  I get emails & texts daily about a 20% off sale & her GWP program is awesome!  They last a long time & you don't have to use much, which is a bonus.

Let us know how you like the Ordinary compared to PC.

@JudyL   You can even use the shimmers during the day if you swipe lightly across the lid.  YOu don't want to apply heavy. When it's light it brings some attention to they eye without being over done.  Enjoy.  I am older so I do a lot of swiping because I can still wear it without looking all made up.
