Hi. I really like drunk elephant and Josie Marian's tinted sunscreen. The only issue with both is the 1 shade. It is a little dark for me. Will mixing them with regular sunscreen help color adjust?  Any other suggestions or products like this to try?

I apply with beauty blender. Should I use fingers instead?

thank you in advance.

First let me say I have used the Josie Maran tinted spf 47 and really like it.  It is a bit shiny on me after first applying it, but if I apply a bit of powder over it, it has a nice matte finish.

But my new favorite is a tinted spf by Australian Gold.  It is a mineral based spf of 50 with a nice matte finish.  I can even put a good moisturizer under it.  When I first apply it, it appears a bit light but melds into a beautiful color almost immediately.  And the best part is that it is a mineral sunscreen.  Another good thing is the price.  I just purchased on Amazon for 13.99 and got an aditional 3.50 off that price.  Definately worth a try.

Thank you!  I will definitely look into this. I really love the idea of tinted sunscreen. I appreciate the suggestion.

How about adding your liquid foundation, if you use one, to your sunscreen? I do that all the time.

@wagirl  The foundation + spf would then have to be worn on neck/chest. It’s been proven that foundations with spf are not not effective because not enough is used. Diluting the spf w/ foundation, IMO is not a great solution.

@maryfitz24  I use Skinceuticals Tinted Physical Fusion SPF. It’s also waterproof. I only use it on my face...tint is very light & universal. I apply my regular spf to neck/chest...tinted spfs & foundation w/ spf applied to neck/chest will get all over light colored clothing.

shanus--I wear reg spf on my neck and all areas exposed to the sun. I use a 50 spf and tint it with my foundation. Think I'm ok with that.

The Australia Gold tinted sunscreen is a nice one and is finally available in Canada. I bought both the tinted and regular unscented kid's white sunscreen version and the tinted one for the face is better. The tube for the tinted version is white and turquoise blue. The kid's version tube is white and lavender.

Another tinted suncreen that you may like is by Clinique. It's Clinique Pep Start broad spectrum SPF 50 and I've seen it at Sephora. It's tinted but not a dark shade. It's about $25 CDN and U.S. for a 1 oz bottle. It is a liquid and has a mixing ball in the container so you shake it well before applying. The packaging is yellow and white.
