Time In A Bottle

I went to Sephora to purchase a bottle of this serum yesterday. The sales associate told me that the product was pulled from the shelves by the manufacturer and they removed their display. She thought this was odd because they just received the product and recently completed the training regarding this serum. That is all she knew.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I am hoping it is just a packaging issue or something similar as I would love to try this in the future when my other serums run out.
