I've gain a lot from these boards and have learned from the recent thyroid discussions, but have a more specific question. Yes, I am waiting on my appointment with medical doctor, but until I get there. I saw a Nurse practitioner this morning - with some lab results. She was a bit clueless - but said that the blood doesn't always tell everything - that symptoms play a role as well. Recent symptoms - previous 3 months (constipation, extreme cold and 10 lb weight gain with no explanation). So, she increased my Synthroid from 112 to 125, but she didn't seem sure that was the right direction. Is it?
Also, I physically looked at my own labs and they were very close to the same as last year... so could the symptoms still be thyroid related - I was expecting more change in the lab.
March 2013 March 2012
TSH 4.01 TSH 3.55
T3 2.8 T3 2.7
T4 1.5 T4 1.5
I know these are only opinions, but I'm trying to learn from those who know more than I so I can actually understand and ask specific questions when I see MD.
Thanks, ladies.
