I had an acne scar from a rather large cystic acne on my lower jaw/neck area. I had gone into the derm after it did not heal 3-4 months later. She injected a steroid of some sort. Roughly 30 days later the infection inside seemed to be gone but a large scar, purple-ish pink/gray, remained on my light skin. I have sensitive, acne-prone, somewhat oily skin. Before going to the derm, I was using my Retin A twice a week and Paula's BHA gel in the AM. All of my skin was clear but this cystic acne matter and a blemish between my brows. My derm told me to increase my Retin A that the BHA wasn't necessary but I could continue with it opposite my Retin A.
Now for my question.... Is it normal for my skin where the acne scar remains to be super thin and dented in? Will this normalize at any point? The discolored skin isn't bothering me as much as the area being thin and dented if you will. I'm having trouble describing it. What should I do?
