In the 1st photo it appears she is not wearing makeup or not much of it.
In the 2nd photo she is wearing full makeup.
Compare the eyebrows& eyes in both photos. I also suspect she is wearing a consealer in the 2nd photo.
@Mz iMac that is the whole point of these filters and apps. This one is more subtle than some I've seen.
There are some women who get so carried away they look like a mannequin. Many times you can spot when something is done because other things in the photo and background are heavily distorted. That is when it's funny when the person claims the photo is natural.

Is there anyone on the planet that isn't aware of what software/apps can do? I've been making photos "perfect" since I first started dabbling in Photoshop in the mid to late 90s. As long as you're not trying to sell/show it as fact like for a newspaper or magazine, I don't have a problem with it. ANY photo of ANYthing can stand a little bit of tweaking for things like noise, lighting, removing annoying backgrounds, objects (or people). I like to see a photo the way I want it to look. Sometimes that includes making teeth whiter, undereye bags go bye-bye, removing flaws (but keeping it real...not flat) bluer skies, greener grass, etc. Remember the Olan Mills portraits back in the day? Remember how flawless they would make our family portraits? It's nothing new
@monicakm Last time I checked, I'm on the planet and know nothing about using photoshop, etc. Lol

@Shanus I also don't know a thing about these apps.

@San Antonio Gal I've never needed to know. I send selfies as is...what's the point of changing features and coloring. I just don't get it unless maybe a celebrity or a model.

.@shanus
I hate to tell you this but I checked my handy-dandy global people finder app and I can't find you on this planet 😂

I guess people do it for the same reason they wear makeup. They want to hide flaws, smooth out texture and uneven skin tones accentuate features and look their best. 😊

I have never altered a picture with these kinds of apps. I guess if that's your thing and it makes you feel good, go for it.
But when someone starts posting enhanced pictures on social media, I am inclined to call them out as being a big phony.
And exactly how would you explain to someone who says, upon seeing you in person, "you don't look anything like your pictures". 😄😄😄

That would be an awkward moment ![]()
I don't do social media (FB, Insta, Twitter, etc) so I don't know to what extent people who are on those platforms alter their photos. I do like to enhance my own personal photos tho...the entire photo, not just people.
