I used Thayer Cucumber years ago but eventually moved on to a true rose water in the morning and a galactomyces essence at night.

@JeanLouiseFinchI'm having trouble pronouncing that one! Just wanted to say, I learn something new every day!

I always thought witch hazel was used more in the treatment of specific skin irritations. I never sought this out to use on a regular basis. Actually, I never used it at all, and I'm a plant girl at heart.

Didn't Yves Rocher have products featuring hamamelis? JT used to present these and always talked about it.

Long-term use of products containing witch hazel is not good for the skin. It has it's place in quick-fix skincare but making a habit of using it often is pro-aging.

@SilleeMee   I'm curious, what do think of toners in general without witch hazel?  I always hear a lot of pros and cons re toners.  Is the witch hazel drying for the skin?

@2penny

There are so many different kinds of toners. I suppose if you like what a toner does for you then use it. Personally I don't need one. My approach to skincare is 'less is better'.

Yes, WH is drying and that's mainly why many are sold blended with other things to help prevent the skin from drying out.
