We're all different among greasy eyelids, allergies, then the eye shapes which can be deep set enough to almost hide the lid.

I haven't done it in years since I have a good selection of eyeliners right now. When I did do it I always wet the liner brush first. There used to be a product you could use to wet your brush that made it last better than just water, but I don't know if there's any on the market right now.
I prefer a slanted brush to line my eyes. I think I must have deep set eyes since I can't line out past the corner without it jumping the "ditch", so I have to pull it taut to do that. Doesn't matter what angle I look in the mirror to do it. Plus, older skin, even eye skin, is looser and moves.

I used a slanted eyebrow brush that came in a kit today.

Hmmm......I've tried it a couple of times and it does work. I used eyeliner in the past that just wouldn't budge off. I'm not a fan of really tugging at my eyelids to get the "bulletproof" liner off. Nope! I tried dark eyeshadows....wetting the brush and using that as a liner. The better quality the eyeshadow, the long it stays put.

@YanksFan wrote:Laura Geller Eye Rimz worked really well for this. The little brush that came with them was great. I don't see them on her website and really wish they were still available. The colors were very pretty and lasted all day.
WOW, right?!! I loved Eye-Rimz. They were great. I still have a couple. I love them!

I believe this is a well known makeup trick. Some eyeshadow can be used wet to add extra pigment when using it as a liner.

@ECBG I don't put much stock in influencers on YT, but I've used a shadow as liner down in my lashes and a tightline for many years. I also did this on many clients with deep set eyes or hooded lids.
Cut creases is for the young and has not been popular along with contouring. The more natural look is "in" now.

@SilleeMee and @ECBG : Laura Mercier started this way of applying liner decades ago and it's still the best way to apply liner to define the eye.
She had a flat semi-stiff brush and cake liner. I'm not sure the creamy liner is still available, but I spray my brush with an alcohol free seting spray and use a dark shadow shade in a shadow palette...dark brown, navy, charcoal and sometimes black. It's a natural way to save lid space.
I approach my lashes with the brush facing down into lashes and line in between the lashes (making dots) and then connecting them. A waterproof liner goes in the waterline.

@Jk9 I gave the tip further along about spraying your brush first with alcohol free setting spray. Shadow liners stay put.
