Re: Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Powder Question

I use at night after the oil, only splashing the oil once or twice, then mixing/applying the rice powder. THEN I do a complete rinse. I also use my Foreo Luna over the oil/rice powder combo before rinsing.

Depending on how my skin feels in the morning, or my mood, sometimes I'll just just the rice powder as my cleanser. Other times I use one of my other cleansers.

I really love these products.

This is from the FAQs on their website: (talking about the oil cleanser)

How do I use this product?
Begin with dry hands and a dry face. Apply 1-2 pumps of the Camellia Cleansing Oil into the palm of your hand. Massaging into skin in circular motions. The oil will emulsify into a milk and spirit away makeup and impurities effortlessly. Rinse with warm water and follow with Rice Enzyme Powder.

What step in my skin care ritual is the Camellia Cleansing Oil?
This is the first step in the ritual. For best results, follow with the Polishing Powder, Deep Brightening Serum, and Moisture Rich Silk Cream.

Interesting. I wonder why the creator of the system doesn't present it this way?

JLF, she did present it that way the very first time she was on. I don't know about subsequent presentations, though. And I remembered reading the instructions when I got the sample pack.

I've read that they think American women don't take the time that other women do in oriental cultures when it comes to ritual cleansing, and so she may not stress that rice powder follow up now in her presentations.

I don't think she's very clear about it. The first time I saw it presented Lisa said she uses the oil then the rice powder with her Clarisonic. That's how I've been using it since I first got it (although I've swapped out my Clarisonic for my Foreo Luna).

Re: Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Powder Question

I was just going to go look at the video, but since the oil is no longer even listed, no video. No video with the powder, either.

I had a terrible reaction to this product so I would recommend once a day and do not use with a Clairsonic until you are sure your skin can tolerate it. Unfortunately, I did use it twice a day to start & with my Clairsonic. I developed what seemed like a chemical burn. My face turned red and felt hot. Another BBer had an even worse reaction than mine & she had to go to the doctor. This product has talc in it so anyone who has allergies to talc should not use the Tatcha Enyzme cleansers. I had similar type reactions to Bare Essentials but not to the same extreme so for anyone who may have felt their face itched or burned with BE, the Tatcha enzyme cleanser most likely will not work for you.

While I like the Tatcha Classic Polished, it makes my face itchy, burning like sensation every time I use it. I just use my hands as I don't use my Clarisonic anymore.

Use the oil and powder in the morning, oil alone at night.

Re: Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Powder Question

I specifically remember that during a presentation of the enzyme powder that Vicky, the founder of the Tatcha line, stated that it should not be used with a Clarisonic as it could irritate the skin.

Lisa said she uses it with her Clarisonic, so that's how I tried it -- and loved the results! No problems whatsoever. Someone said they'd contacted Customer Service (Tatcha's) and they recommened against it -- felt it would be too much exfoliation. But I hardly view the rice powder as an exfoliator -- and the Clarisonic's purpose is not exfoliation -- so as I said, no problem. I've since stopped using the Clarisonic and instead use the Foreo Luna and again, love the results.

As always, "Individual results may vary". :-)

Re: Tatcha Polished Rice Enzyme Powder Question

I use the powder in the morning only! I use the oil at night for removing makeup. Love them both. There are 3 different powders.

1-Gentle

2-Regular

3-Deep

I prefer either the Gentle or the regular, but based on your skin type the Gentle is obviously very gentle for sensitive skin and the Regular is for most skin types and the Deep is for Acne/oily skin. I have tried all three in the sample package and prefer reg or gentle, even though I have more oilier skin! This cleansing combination has helped keep my oil at bay for sure, even my daughter said Mom your skin isn't so shiny anymore-what are you doing>?!
