Tarte Serum and Setting Powder

[ Edited ]

I was watching a Tarte show last night and a set with a tinted serum and setting powder was on (A692757).   Since nothing was said about it being talc free, I checked the ingredients and MICA is the first ingredient in the powder.  I thought that mica was what created the shimmer look in powders.  this is what I found on google...

Mica in makeup is generally considered safe for topical use, but concerns exist regarding its sourcing and potential contamination with asbestos, as well as potential respiratory issues from inhaling mica dust.

I knew that talc and asbestos were linked I didnt know that Mica was a concern as well...

And wondering why, since Tarte has based their whole line on Amazonian Clay , unless its listed under a different name, its not even in the deck for the powder...🤔🤔🤔

What do you all think.  Do you mind MICA in your products??

Re: Tarte Serum and Setting Powder

Lots of mica in all types of makeup.  It usually doesn't cause an allergic reaction I think, so I do not avoid it.
