The Calista product isn't a blow dryer...so comparing it to something that blows hot air doesn't make sense.

I purchased this this to replace a similar type of device (different brand) and this is a great price compared to what I paid for the other one.

What bothers me about her presentation is she keeps saying it doesn't get hot and burn your hair (see, I can touch it and not burn my hands). Have you ever touched inside the bristles (the part that actually touches your hair) OUCH - VERY, VERY HOT on your hair. I find that so disengenuous.

@september. Yes it does because the gadget with the blower is a curling brush that looks just like the Calista but, for a lot less money, has the additional feature of blowing hot air.  Damp curls set with warm air last a lot longer.

My walmart styler does not get overly hot and burn me, It dries my hair as it curls it because warm air blows through it, and has various size brushes I can chose which I like that day.It sounds like I am better off with what I already have.

I have a Conair one that sounds a lot like yours.  I love it.  I paid around $20 or so and I think you are much better off with what you already have than this Calista tool.  These fairly inexpensive dryer-brushes work great and actually dry your hair while giving it body and curl.  I love mine and if it ever breaks will buy another.

Re: TSV question Perfector by Calista

I use the Perfector every day, I am not looking for curl. All straight hair people have many, many products to help produce curl, the products have been around for decades The Perfector has simplied my life in a matter of minutes I am able to get rid of frizz.  It makes my curly frizzy hair become more Human.  I am completely grateful for the product, the creator has the similar hair type as mine,  curly and  frizzy. Wish I would have had the Perfector in my teen years because some people bully us people with frizzy curly hair. Thank-you Marie for making the Perfector, I consider it a blessing!

Straightening products are so hard on hair and this does not damage hair.

@ihbchiefclerk  You summed it up very well for me. I'm not trying to dry/curl my hair either.  I want a product that gives my roots some volume and smooths my hair.  If I want...it can also be used to give it some curl. Most of the time, I want to let my hair air dry, but then I need to do some quick styling on it to make it look nicer.  I hope that's what the Perfector will do for me.

Well, if you want the hot air feature....then you buy a product that does that.  The Calista is clearly not one of those products.(although...I know they say you can use it to make curls)

As already mentioned...we aren't all buying a styler that gives us a curl.  I hate the way curly hair looks on me.  I'm looking for volume and smoothing.
