I've noticed many products contain this, especially ones that can be used at night.
I try not to sleep in white paint.
I need hydration, but titanium dioxide and ALCOHOL are listed in the upper 1/3 of the ingredient deck of the Deep hydrating serum.
I've not tried this line, have wanted to, pretty sure I won't.
I love algae, so I try to find that in high %.
Does TATCHA have any ingredients which promote our own elastin or collagen production or slow the telomere destruction, or use stem cells? Looking for brands that do those things.

Quite the opposite- the fact that alcohol (the destructive, drying kind) is in the formula can make skin worse, especially over the long run. So even if it has ingredients that might help increase collagen production, it may be negated altogether by the effects of the alcohol.

My skin responds better to this line that any before. And I am very picky!

Haven't tried the product. I know alcohol can dry out the skin but maybe it's needed to help the other ingredients do their job. Titanium dioxide is used in many things to keep them 'white'. Maybe so the product doesn't look old and contaminated before it's time.

If you love algae, try SkinActives products. They use sea Kelp bioferment which is an algea. I love their Antioxidant Day cream, revitalizing Night Cream, Vitamin A cream & UV Repair cream. If my skin didn't have issues with dimethicone, I'd also love their AntiAging Cream. But I get little red bumps 4 to 5 days after using products with dimethicone so I have to stay away from scones. SkinActives products are very reasonable and you can order sample sizes to try before investing in full sizes. They also have a lot of actives in their products plus they sell actives that you can mix into your own creams. So if you have a cream you already like, you could add their Sea Kelp Coral into it.

No, that is really not the way it works with alcohol in skincare.

HappyDaze, I have read that too. That it is just a myth about alcohol in skincare drying skin, more specifically toners.

I hope that HappyDaze will forgive me for butting in here, but I really don't think that's what she was referring to. I think HD was saying that alcohol is not needed to help other ingredients do their job, as the poster had suggested.
Alcohol, unless it's the "fatty" kind, is very drying to skin.

Yes, thank you for clarifying that, Suzy.
Also, it isn't just that it causes drying, it actually can damage cells and cause more long-term damage. As Suzy stated, there are are "fatty" kinds of alcohol that aren't drying and the SD, denatured, etc kind that ARE drying. And the kind in Tatcha is the drying kind, not the fatty kind.

Cetyl alcohol is actually good for your skin unless you suffer from excema or have sensitive skin. It's the fatty acid type. Here's a link to Truth In Aging's discussion on cetyl alcohol:
