Going on a cruise next month - Southern Caribbean - 11 days in the hot sun.

Looking for recommendations for a good sunscreen. One for the face too.  I hate greasy sunscreen that runs into your eyes.

No sprays, as I feel those are a waste.

I hear Equate is just as good as name brands.  Same with NOAD.

Thanks everyone.

My derm has me using Tizo for  my face.  I'm not 100% in love with it, but it's better than everything I have tried except for the product below.

What I am in love with, but it's not available for retail yet, is Andrew Lessman's sunscreen called Sole.  The info about it is on sole.com

I received a sample tube a month or so ago and really like it under makeup.  I just need to see how it works in humidity.

Re: Sunscreen Recommendations

I use Aveeno 80 SFP spray for my body.

Target's Up & Up has been highly rated by Consumer Reports in the past.  I have used that for body as well.

Re: Sunscreen Recommendations

I’d recommend a wide-brimmed hat or visor for your face. I hate putting sunscreen on my face, especially in the summer when I’m at the pool almost every day. My wide-brimmed visor works like a charm with none of the problems that you can get from facial sunscreens.

I use LaRoche-Possy 50+ “

I can vouch for this.

it doesn’t hurt when it gets in your eyes either.

i like the cream formulation best.

This is the best sunscreen and as a renova user I need major protection.

Re: Sunscreen Recommendations

Australian Gold Botanical Sunscreen SPF 50

Asutralian Gold Botanical Sunscreen SPF 50 for face (Tinted)

Thy are very thick, so I only wear them when I know I am going to be outdoors for long periods of time.  But they do work really well, and they are mineral sunscreens.

@disneynut57

Good morning I have oily sensitive acne prone skin and I really like Devita Solar Protection Moisturizer spf# 30 + its mineral based . It was one of EWG 2015 top rated sunscreens too. They have a body sunscreen  as well .You can find them at Whole Foods, VitaCost , IHerb for the best prices . They alos have their own website . Vitacost is on EBATES too if you do EBATES . Good luck and have a great trip !

I live in Florida and have been on Caribbean cruises.  You need to bring:

1.  Wide brimmed hat.  This will help with the sun beating down but will do nothing for sun that is reflected off of water, whether at the pool or while you are lounging/walking on deck.  Your neck and chest will still get sunburned from the sun reflecting off of the water.

2.  Sunglasses to protect your eyes.

3.  SPF 50+ suncreen, applied every few hours.  For face, I like Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 50+ PA++++ (can buy on Amazon).  This is a non-greasy gel.  For body, I like Banana Boat SPF 50+, look for the one that dries down dry and matte. The last thing you want is to feel like a greased pig from sunscreen while sweating in the heat.

4. Some type of lotion or gel for soothing a sunburn.  Let's face it, you're probably going to get sunburned if you spend any time in the sun.  The sun is really, really intense in Florida and out on the water in the Caribbean, so be prepared.

Have fun!

ETA:  I have tried the Austrailan Gold sunscreens and found that they don't work very well in the intense sun in Florida.  I got sunburned while using them.  Also, they are quite thick and silicone-y, unpleasant when sweating in the heat/humidity of Florida.

An estimated 700,000 people around the world, 400,000 of them children, have died so far due to the discontinuation of the USAID program.
