I've tried a few products and liked them, but what are they trying to pull with the before and afters? Clearly the before shows eye squinting/face pulling. You can always tell when the eyeball is seen less/more, one side of face pulled up just a little, and a little is all it takes for all the wrinkles and crinkles to show around the eye orbit, mouth and cheeks.
I thought this tactic was getting better, stopping even, in some lines.
I mean if you're watching the shows, don't they think we notice?
Sheesh!![]()

Sheesh!
There's a thread about Sunday Riley from January 3 2022. Interesting read.

@skittles2 The befores and afters of all the lines are ridiculous!!! I saw an Elemis night cream last night (Shawn's show) that promised it would take away your lines in 4 weeks. Really?
We need to be informed consumers and not fall for all this hype.

Ridiculous indeed. Josie does the same---saying her argan oil will make the wrinkles disappear.

It's even worse when some of the hosts, and not just here, gush at the afters, they're seeing the same THINGS WE ARE- slight squint/frown/grimace, one-sided mouth lift, jutting out/ pulling chin in to show neck wrinkles or how they've been taken away. And the jowls sudddenly disappearing-
well sure, I can make mine disappear without skincare, it's called smiling, even slightly, like they do in the pics, works.
Do they think we'd believe their words over our own eyes?
I will say, there are some pics I respect. As I said, I've always looked at the eyeball, not the lids. You can tell by looking at the top and bottom of the outer rim of the iris: can you see the same amount of rim, or is one pic showing more or less rim.
If someone is slightly smiling to lift the cheeks, or raise the brow, or frowns, anything in the face,- it changes the upper and lower eye lid coverage over the upper and lower outer iris rim.
the before's may show more of the rim covered and the after more rim showing, then you know something was manufactured in the before or after's.
There are brands that B&F's pretty much match. I give those a try more often.
I don't go by the pics no matter who swears by it, or 'consumer perceptions' (seriously?)
It may be a good product, but it has to be good for individual skin. Our perceptions will be different from one another.
What happened to once used- factual scientific results, with more than 10 participants?
I also research everything I buy to see if it contains anything that can do what it claims, knowing most skincare can't get our jowls up over our head, not taking 20yrs off no matter how many people tell us we look 20 yrs younger...etc.,
in the end, if it interests me, I'll try it, BUT if I can get a similar product from a line which has honest pics, even if the afters aren't mind blowing, I'd choose that brand.
