I take care of my grandchildren, so no makeup for years.
I found that if I do wear makeup, it has to be barely existant. I do know how to apply makeup, but I really don't like how I look with it on.
On the rare occasion, I go out, I just put on some lipstick, curl my eyelashes, a touch of blush.
In the summer, forget it. Too hot & humid to be putting anything on, even moisturizer.
Considering all the pathetic cosmetics I still have, I should use something. but I've become very minimilist as I've gotten older.

But I have given up on mascara and foundation. I never wore much else anyway. No eyeliner or lipstick. It's not that I don't like it, i find it just sweats off most of the time and looks yucky after a few hours so why bother. Have you found that once you are no longer working you stopped wearing makeup daily?

Well, I think I was born with a mascara wand in one hand and a lipstick in the other (and probably yelling "Who's got the concealer brush?"), so I can't ever imagine not wanting to wear make-up. But who knows, really?
I think I'll wear it as long as I find it enjoyable and worthwhile, and if I reach the point where it isn't either of those things anymore, then I'll stop. Sound reasonable?

I still work but, on days off when I plan to stay home, I don't wear makeup. If I am just going to make a quick run to the grocery store or some such thing, I don't bother with makeup. Well, I do wear lip balm. I also don't bother putting my contacts in so I wear my glasses instead.
I don't consider it "letting myself go" or not caring what I look like. It is just a different look. I'm never afraid I might run into someone I know.

I have been working from home for the past few years....minimal to no makeup when I am home all day. And depending where I do have to go will determine what I use. If I won't be out all day, I won't use up my primer....and chose lesser expensive make up if I am just going to pick something up at the store etc. Unless I feel like "playing". It's funny because my 10 year old son will ask me why I look all fancy just to be at home, even if I am just wearing yoga pants but have a full face on, lol.

Yikes I always wear make-up! I don't work, haven't since 1981 and still get up, exercise, make my bed and yes, put make-up on and fix my hair. I just find being a girl is a whole lot of fun! All the things we can use to look our best certainly makes it easy! ![]()

I like using mu but I am not committed to it on a everyday basis. One day, I will stop completely, maybe, but for now, I am enjoying it.

LOL #ID2- I used to be the same way...I can remember going out to clubs, or down the street to the get my mail, and taken an hour to perfect make up/hair/nails, just because it was fun! And who knows, the mail man might have been single and really digged the smokey eye. But even now married...if I am out an about, yes...even camping, my make up comes along! I even make my owm bug spray with essential oils so it smells nice. I just scale back and save the good stuff for special occassions. My mom, God rest her soul, used to say, if I keep doing my wow factor make up everyday, I don't leave any room to wow on special occaisions. 46 years old and I still forget that advice sometimes.

I am retired and usually only makeup when I have to go out. My skin is really good for my age and I can get away without it, but I look better with some color on my face.

When I'm home, none whatsover.
Just a clear lip moisturizer or lip balm.
When I'm out, moisturizer / high SPF sunscreen combo, brow stuff, cream blush, & a tinted lip balm or moisturizing lipstick.
Even though I wear eyeglasses full-time, I gave up on eyeshadow, liner, & mascara a long time ago.
At least for the time being. ;-)
Glasses - especially my medium-size dark ones ones that help pop my light green eye color - kinda frame your eyes in a way & also help add structure to your face.
Combine that with strong brows, & it ain't bad. ;-)
Never wore foundation, BTW; gives me the creeps for some odd reason.
But a sheer tinted SPF moisturizer seems nice for those who feel they need it.

I think it is fun too!
