When you're doing the "super glue".......be sure and add a tiny piece of cloth or very fibrous paper to the glue before it dries. This reinforces it. Yes, it will look a little lumpy, but it's better than the split. Put extra top coat on it, and it will be barely noticeable.

I had that problem, too, when I was getting gel nails, & even after I stopped that. I've been using Nailtiques Formula 2 for about 2 months now & the problem's gone, along with the peeling problem.

I use this or a similar product with brush on nail glue. IBD 5-Second Nail Filler Powder from Sally Beauty Supply. Drugstores have similar products.

I just read an article in Ladies Home Journal about nail problems. They showed Nailtiques Nail Formula 2 Plus. They also showed one called DermaNail Nail Conditioner but that one was $30. I think I'd try the Nailtiques first since it is so recommended here by so many.

I had this problem for a while -- it cleared up when I stopped using all nail products and went completely bare and natural.
